Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: My husband and I were seperating. This was our second marriage to each other. The first time we got married, was Febuary 7, 1997, and the second time was August 21,2001. We were only married this time for only about two weeks, and were already separating. I was pregnant with our second child. I loaded up my car with as much stuff as I could, one night after having a very bad arguement. Then, that night my three year old daughter and I got on the road at about 11:00p.m. leaving Virginia Beach going home to Natchitoches, La. an 18 hour drive. I was only home for about three days when the tragedy began. I remember going to my mothers house one morning and my entire family was in front on the T.V. I thought it was very strange to see that because at that time in the morning, some of them would usually still be sleeping, especially my brother, he's a night owl. Then I turned around and looked at the television and saw that one of the towers were on fire. Like everyone eles, I thought maybe the plane was flying too low and it was an accident. Then, the second one hit. I knew then it wasn't an accident. My husband is in the military, so i called him to see how he was doing, because by then the pentagon was hit too. When we heard eachothers voice, we cried. He was crying of disbelief, and I was crying because we were going through this apart. The next day we talked about getting back together. Whatever we were argueing about was nothing compared to loosing a love one. There were so many people who lost their spouces. Not knowing that ,that morning was going to be the last time they saw eachother. Then there we were, ready to give up on soemthing that I'm sure so many wish they still had. Today is the aniversary of SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 and my husband and I are still together. I had a baby boy, we named him Gabriel. So many time today we have touch eachother and hugged eachother.
