On this day of September 11, 2001, I was at home asleep, when at about 7:10 I heard the phone ring. It was a cousin of mine from San Diego telling me to hurry up and turn on the televison. So I awoke up, quickly, fearing something terrible had happened, sure enough my fear had come true. The first thing that crossed my mind, was my cousin who lives in New York,was he okay, was he in the Twin Towers. The worst fear that I've ever felt had come to me. All I could think of was, if he was alright, how can we get a hold of him and thinking about my aunt, his mother. I feared the worst. When talking to my cousin, from San Diego, I was so scared that I began to cry. I had this sadness in me knowing that my cousin may not be okay. Finally after hours of waiting, my cousin finally called and said that he was okay. We had great relief knowing he was alright. He was shaky but he was alright. He told us it was very scary and that he was sad and lonely. He was deciding to come home, but since all of the USA was in high alert, he would wait until it was safe to come back. He was thinking about returning in a couple of weeks after that day, but sadly he had to fly out seven days exactly, because his brother, our cousin, had passed away. Not only is September 11, 2001 going to be a day of rememberance for our country, the month will be, a month, we as well as many families will never forget.
