911DA Story: Story

I woke up the morning of September 11th and got ready for work just like any other day. It wasn't until I got in my car and turned on the radio that I found out what had happened. It was all very confusing, almost like a dream, like I would wake up any moment. When I got to work, my co-workers and I turned on the television and watched in horror as the tragedy became reality and we all sat there just stunned. Although, I lost no one personally, the loss of 9/11 effected everyone across the nation. Over the next few weeks the show of patriotisn was unbelievable. There was no war during my time period, and I don't think a lot of the people in my age group had ever felt that before. Now everytime I see an American flag I remember 9/11 and I remember what being an American is really about. I will never forget that day or the people that were lost, and I will also never forget to be proud that I am American. On this day, a year after, I would like to extend my thanks to the brave firefighters and police officers and also extend my deepest sympathy to the families who have lost someone in this tragedy. I hope it can bring some comfort to know that no matter how alone you feel on this day, you have an entire country who feels your pain and who is by your side to help you through. As America unites today, let us all pray for our fellow Americans and pray for peace.
God Bless America!!!
