911DA Story: Story

That Tuesday morning started off as a rainy day. I was in Spanish class, studying my notes and waiting for the CHANNEL 1 NEWS broadcast to come on.
My teacher turned on the channel that the feed usually comes on, but instead, CNN was on the TV.
At first I thought that there was an explosion at a factory and there was smoke billowing from smokestacks. Then I saw the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor, and I realized that it was the World Trade Center towers.
I was shocked when I saw the replay of the second plane crashing into the other tower. I was upset with CNN for replaying the crash as if it were a football play.
My friends sat there with their mouths wide open in disbelief. All work was halted that day, and if there was work to be done, the students had trouble conscentrating on it.
On the recent anniversary of the attacks, I watched as the names were read and I saw how the nation came together.
Although none of my friends or family were killed in the attacks. I was affected as an American. It amazes me on how it took such a horrific event to bring the nation together.
