Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I am certain that, as most Americans, that day will never be far from my thoughts. Even almost three years after so many of our family and friends lost their lives to cowards, images of that day are horribly clear. That morning started out like every other day. I had just returned home shortly after 8:30 a.m. from taking my son to school and had sat down to watch The Today Show. I can still feel the weight in my chest, the tears running down my face and my prayers for the lives I knew were forever lost. By the time the entire world witnessed the second plane hitting I knew our world and our lives would never again be innocent. When the Pentagon was also attacked, my immediate thoughts were of my son and his safety. As implausible as it was that South Carolina may be attacked, I could not help but fear that possibility. After all, did anyone ever think that our Pentagon would be blatanly targeted? For the next week I remained in front of the television, praying for miracles to be found in the rubble. Crying at the heart wrenching images of innocent men and women jumping to their deaths to try and escape the fire. I lost my father in February of 1999 and every day since his death I wished that he were still with us, except on September 11, 2001. That day I remember thanking God that my father were no longer alive to see what was happening. After years in the Army's Special Forces, my father worked for 21 years as a Firefighter. The sight of so many Firefighters, EMS and Police Officers, as well as the thousands of innocent people would have destroyed him. No one should have ever had to witness death like that. I continue to feel deep pain for the families and victims of that day and I pray for their salvation and happiness. My God continue to bless us all and keep us safe from the world's cowards.
