I was on a business trip with a co-worker. We had left our hotel and were on our way to a meeting. We were listening to the radio and heard the shocking news. It made us both feel sick. All of our business meetings that day were focused on the days news. We listened to radios and watched television at all of our stops. I live in Newark, Ohio and could not wait to get back home to be with my family. I wanted to be with them because I was unsure if anything else was going to happen. When we finally got home that evening my husband and I watched the news all evening and cried. My daugher and her son and her life partner were calling and talking to us about it also. My daughter is 21 and she was like a child calling to her mom to see if things were going to be allright and I felt helpless as I could not reassure her that it would be. After the year has past and we now talk about it it is still in disbelief that something like that could happen to the United States. We have all come together as a family" to stand together and do what we have to to make this Country a safe one again. This is something that should be taught to all children in schools now. Something that they should never forget, do not take our freedom for granted.
