911DA Story: Story

I had to maintain an equelibrium while at work. After work, I was looking for some perspective from my kids. I asked my daughter for her reaction. She wrote the following:

GOING HOME

Silent screams fill the night
Begging to be heard
Reaching out toward hopeful hands
To anyone who might be there
Struggling under the rubble of hate
Tears break the sudden silence
Pooling at their feet
A million thoughts circle their heads
Home
Family
Children

Questions come up ready
Answers begging to be found
Hope is all they ask for
To see the sky again
To smell their partner's hair
To hold their children in their arms
To be found
To be safe
In loving arms
Again

Home is where they belong
Not under some hateful crime
Crashing down upon them
One wish is all they beg for
Home, home again
Where someone will be waiting
With open arms
Open hearts
Loving hands

They will be home soon
They will be safe
In a place where there is no hate
No pain
No fear
It isn't hate that sets them free
It is something greater
It is love.
