Mine is a simple story. My husband, 1 1/2 year old son and I were going through our morning rituals, when we heard that the WTC had been hit by one airplane and possibly a second. We quickly went downstairs and turned on CNN. While we watched the horrific events unfold, we had to continue with my son's morning ritual, which included eating breakfast. What stands out to me about that morning was the fact that, while the world was turning upside down, my son was as happy as can be. He was laughing and playing with his food as he would on any other day. I was holding back the tears; sad ones, due to the tragedies on the screen, but happy ones, because my son was able to retain his innocence through all of these events. Thank God for children!! (And God Bless America!)
