Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was at home watching television with my kids. They were watching TV and something made me change the station from what they were watching, to the news. There was no news flash on their channel but I knew something was wrong. When I turned the news on there was a picture of the first world trade center burning. I said to my boyfriend " Oh my god- thats the trade center- all those people". At the time the second plane still had not crashed and people still thought it was an accident. Then as a reporter was showing live pictures of the first building, the second was hit. I then knew it wasnt a mistake and just thought of all the people that were in the buildings trapped. I started to tear up thinking, " what if that was my son or daughter?". I was glued to the tv for hours watching buildings fall, lives be lost, families be torn, and our sence of security be taken. I live not too far from a power plant and worried if that was next. All i know is that I fear the worst could happen again. In my mind I am also grateful for the people who helped and are heroes. They are in my mind and heart forever.
