911DA Story: Story
Its been a long 5 years, and I've come to accept that I'll always tear up when there is a clip of that day on the news.
There is a hole in my sky-the view from my balcony faces directly on lower Manhattan and the Towers were the highlight of that view, in rain, sun, storm and brilliant blue skies, like that day.
I get along ok, tho when the news replays those terrible times, it still hurts.
We are all survivors in the US, but those of us who experienced the fear, the dread, the dust and the tears will never forget the day we weren't sure if we were gonna die.
Today, I haven't worked since Feb '02, I have down days and up days. My faith keeps me stronger than I realize sometimes, and I have a few scars as "souvenirs"-inside and out.
...and I'm one who made it out!
