911DA Story: Story
On the morning of September 11, 2001, I was at school like I would have been any ordinary day. We had bus evacuation that morning, and the bus driver informed us of the attacks. He tried to explain that two buildings in New York, and one building has collapsed. No one actually believed him, and everyone was confused. When we went back to class the teachers had a meting with the principal. When my math teacher came back into the class she was so upset. She put the TV that was in the classroom on he news station. We saw the buildings and all the people running around. She started crying and had to turn off the TV.
At the end of the day the principal came on the loud speaker and told us all to go right home because something awful had happened. I did what he said and had my mom pick me up. When I got in the car, she explained everything that had happened. She told me that four planes had been involved in the attacks and they were considering it a terrorist attacks.
My life has changed a lot since the attacks on September 11th. I could not sleep a full night for an entire month. I had fear of a war. All I could think about was getting killed just like so many people did that day. Every plane that went by gave me a pit in my stomach, and I got scared. It had made me appreciate life more, and has made me live everyday like it?s your last because so many died for no reason at all.
I think most importantly the innocent people that died should be remembered. I think we should remember all the children born with out fathers, and all the children who lost their mothers. I think we should remember to always be united as one, not just when something awful happens. We should remember to always be patriotic no matter what time of the year. I also think we should remember to be kind to call people no matter who they are.
