911DA Story: Story
I had gone to Nigeria for the burial of my grand Dad.I left on the 28th of August 2002.That night,it was night about 8.45pm in Nigeria, I just finished dinner and was walking from the dinning area towards the living room and on the large screen tv I saw a jetliner crashing into a building.
I only casually asked my in-laws who were already in the living room, "what is the title of this movie?"
One just shouted back oh my God that's New York, the World Trade Center. Then I sat down believing that they had used the image of the towers for the movie. But then I realised it was CNN we were watching and they don't show movies.
It became a personal loss for me, New York is my city and I love New York though I was not born a New Yorker, like majority of immigrants in America,she became my home away from home. I quickly stared to find a way to get back to America. I will never forget, I am angry and I will be for a long time, the attack is like a stab in the heart of liberty and freedom, the heart may bleed but the soul is intact and we shall overcome.God bless all freedom loving peoples of the world, and God Bless America the shelter of freedom.
