I had dropped the kids off at school and had dropped my husband off at school, as that is what he was doing at the time. I was listening to the radio only it was only news. I was annoyed that the music wasn't on because I was on my way to work. Then I realized that something terrible had happened, but the DJ wasn' real specific on where it had occured. I arrived at work only to find that the Trade Towers had been hit. At first I thought it was a small plane, only to be told it was a big air liner. My first reaction was totally shocked. I could not fathom that the towers had been attacked on purpose in that way. Needless to say, it was difficult to work. I work for the State of California as a public servant. The Govrenor had us shut down the office by 10:00am pacific time. I immediately went to my daughters school to make sure everything was ok there. They were keeping the kids in school so I was okay with that. Then I called my sitter to see if my other daughter was okay. And all was well there. Then I called my husband and we were both in shock. When we were finally all home for the night I held them all close as we watched the news. I will never forget and neither should America. We need to be reminded how horrible that event was.We did show those maniacs that we can stand tall, that we can stand together, that we WILL prevail. Justice will be served.
