911DA Story: Story

I received an email , asking if I wanted to contribute once again to this worthy project. After thinking "What else can I say?", I decided to write not about that day that the world stood still, but how I feel now.

How do I feel?

Numb to be frank, and I didn't personally know anyone who perished.

I feel sad for the victim's families, especially those that are now being profiled in print, the web and on television. I can only imagine what it must take to re-live these days and how it will affect them in the near future. May whatever God they worship ease their pain.

I feel numb to the overwhelming coverage of this day. I feel numb to all the politicians that are mouthing useless words that deal no direct action to the war on terrorism or to ease the victims suffering and the use of the day for political gain, both republican and democrats alike.

I feel numb to the daily barrage of "bad" Muslims and the oversight of the majority "good" Muslims. Good Muslims don't make good copy or good 15 second sound bites, the radicals do and so thats all we see.

I feel numb to the fact that we will be hit again, and the ante will upped. What kind of world will my children inherit? A wasteland of hated and fear?
