IS WAR THE RIGHT ANSWER?
As US-led military actions in Afghanistan intensify, serious concerns are being raised about the effects that this conflict will have on the Afghan people, other countries in the region and peace and stability for all nations on earth. The effectiveness of this means of stopping international terrorism is also in doubt.
Please join us for a panel discussion as we explore the implications of the United States response to the September 11th attacks.
The following panelists will comment on aspects of the war and address questions from forum attendees:
Paul Thompson, InterWorks, Registered Architect, extensive international experience in disaster and refugee crisis management- War and Refugee Crises
Jennifer Sarin-Loewenstein, Senior Lecturer in Business Communications, UW-Madison School of Business, member of the South-West Asia Information Group, Jews for Equal Justice, Solidarity and US Out Now, extensive travel and activism experience in the Middle East- Human Rights and Public Relations in the "War on Terror"
Paul DAmato, Associate Editor, International Socialist Review- Will the War End Terrorism?
Allan Ruff, US historian, member of Solidarity, Jews for Equal Justice and the South-West Asia Information Group- Threats to Civil Liberties During Wartime
