Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: During the morning of Sept. 11 around 9:00, I had just dropped off our son at school. On my way back home, I turned on the car radio to listen to one of the Atlanta morning shows. The hosts were all excited about something, but i could not figure out what it was. Finally, one of the hosts said, "If you have just tuned in ... a plane just crashed into the side of one of the twin towers ...". I did not know what to think about this. The radio personalities were assuming it was just a freak accident. Then they reported that another plane flew into the other building ... this was no accident. What the hell was happening. I parked in our driveway and ran into the house, turned on the news and just sat there trying to figure all of this out. All the news shows kept replaying their tape of the 2nd plane crashing, people running all over the streets of Nw York. Then the news broke about a 3rd plane crashing into the Pentagon. Before the third plane crash I was just in shock, but when the Pentagon was attack, it hit home. I have a friend and her fiance, at the time, who work at the pentagon. They are part of the K-9 unit. I lost it. I kept thinking she could have been hurt or worse. I called my husband at work. I called my mother. My husband, Bob, decided to come home and pick up or son on his way.
