On Sept.11th,2001 I was asleep in bed when I heard the news. I am a Police Officer for the city of Palm Beach Gardens, and didn't get home till 3am that morning, when I got a phone call from my mother,who also lives in Florida, telling me that there was an explosion in the World Trade Center and that my brother Sal works in there. I told my wife, who is also a Police Officer, to turn on CNN, this was at approx. 9:03am and just as she did we saw the second plane crash into tower 2. We both sat there in total disbelief. We though it was a computer generated simulation of a plane crashing into the World Trade Center until we heard them say that another plane just hit the World Trade Center.
I could not beleve what was going on and then when the towers collapsed my heart stopped.I sat there helplessly and watch as my brother die right before my eyes and I could not do a thing to help him, it was the worst felling in the world. My brother Sal was a senior vice president for Marsh & Mclennan Companies, and he worked on the 100th floor of tower 1 his office was on the same side that the plane impacted on. On March 10th,2002 they recovered my brother Sal's body.I will miss my brother very much.
