911

On September 11, 2001 I had a lot on my mind about what I was happening. I was in my 4th period class at Barker Central School, watching television not know that the World Trade Center towers were on fire. I saw people jumping the burning towers. I just thought that it was a movie or a dream that I was seeing. It was on every news station. During all of my classes we were watching CNN. I found out about the Pentagon when I got home from school. When I heard that it was almost knocked down, I was very scared about what was going to happen. I was so shocked about how much damage that the terrorist had done. I was a little confused, that people would die and be willing to kill for what they believed in. Well, nothing ever got better.
Terrorist attacks why? Why would people do that? I had butterflies in my stomach, when I went to lunch and I could not eat. I thought I might get sick from seeing things on the television and I was too busy thinking of all the things that could happen. There were a lot of people that were being taken to the hospitals because they were injured or dead. Some were just walking along side the building when the planes hit. I really thought about the children that lost their parents when the towers collapsed. One minute they were with their parents and the next their moms or dad were dead. Many children had to go and live with relatives. I found out that the person that did all of this was Osama Bin Laden. There was a moment of silence in school for all the people that died and for all that happened on September 11th 2001. That night when I went home, I watched President Bush speak. It seemed like a war might be starting. I thought it was going to be World War III. A lot of people were scared about what was going to happen after that. The next day people were shaky and very tired because they could not sleep. I know that I could not. I had too much on my mind about what might happen after that. I was sacred that the terrorists were going to bomb the AES plant in Barker, because it controlled all the power in Buffalo and Niagara Falls. My school is very close to the plant. My life has been changed forever. This is now a huge part of history. Everyone thinks it is worse than Pearl Harbor. Now everyone calls it the Attack on America. At Ground Zero two 110-story buildings are now rubble. Thousands of people went to hospitals to donate blood. Now at the airports there are tons of security checks. There was one guy after the towers that tried to blow up a plane that he was on, with his shoelaces as the detonators.
Through all of this I am still jumpy. I still think of the entire thing that happened. I was tired of people saying "look at the date 9-11 it's 911, on the computers under this one writing, it comes up to look like a plane hitting two towers. " I am hoping that nothing else happens.
