911DA Story: Story

I was in bed when my phone rang. It was my sister telling me to turn on the television that a plane had hit the WTC. I asked her if it was it an accident? A few minutes later I saw the second plane come into the television screen. I screemed to my mother that they were going to hit the tower. I sat there crying and knowing that it was an intentional act of terror and that we were going to war. The safety we all felt was gone. The devastating sites of the WTC towers was overwhelming. I couldn't leave the television. I had to absorb all I could see and hear. I still have trouble understanding the thoughts that would lead anyone to think this act would solve any problems the world may have. To take the innocent lives of many a wife, husband, mother, father, sister, brother, son or daughter doesn't solve anything. I still struggle with trying to understand the hatred for the USA. My father, who is dead, was a Disabled American Veteran, and I miss not being able to discuss this with him. My prayers are for the victims and their families and the survivors. I hope our country will stay united in the way they came together after 9-11.
