I was sleeping the morning of September 11th when i heard the phone ring. I got up to answer it. My friend from the internet, Laurie, called me to tell me to turn on the tv. I was still half asleep and turned it on. I looked at it and asked her, "You woke me up to see bombings across seas?!?" She replied, "No, ya dummy, that is in New York!" That is when I really woke up. I could not believe my eyes and my heart sank right then. I just stared in amazement not believing what was taking place before my eyes. I hung up from Laurie and turned around and called my best friend from the internet in Oregon, Tani. I had totally forgotten that she is 2 hours behind me so it was about 6am there. When she answered the phone, I told her to go turn on her tv that they were bombing New York. I think at that time she thought I had lost my mind. We could not believe what was happening.
On the anniversary of September 11th, Tani and I were talking about how I called her and we could not believe what was going on. That will be a memory that will not be forgotten.
