Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: We saw the horror on television, after hearing 'rumors'...my friend and I walked down to our lunch room, and as we walked in, we saw the 1st tower smoking. Then, the room went silent as we saw a plane come from seemingly nowhere and slam into the 2nd tower. We were all stunned. Our thoughts and prayers were with our business associates at Empire Blue Cross. They lost fewer employees than others on higher floors, thank God. My reaction, as always is to write poetry. I have written this poem "Anniversary", in remembrance: Anniversary Only a year has passed Yet it seems we have always lived it. 365 days? so quickly gone by yet so achingly empty at times. We compare it to Pearl Harbor, Kennedy's assassination King, another Kennedy. Yet, the horror is multiplied By 3000. Loved ones never to be found Literally dust to dust. Bits and pieces of others. A watch, a camera, Only these remain Sad souvenirs. What can make us whole again? A war? More violence? Other shattered lives? Thousands of other Innocent victims? I can't remember life Before 9/11/01. How peaceful and Na?ve we must have been. Changed in minutes Altered forever.
