911DA Story: Story
I was sending my students on a restroom break around that time (I'm a Second Grade Teacher). One of my co-workers approached me in the hallway, and asked if I had my television on. Then she told me there was a bomb that went off in the World Trade Center Towers. I didn't get an opportunity to see any television until after 10:00 p.m. You see, I was beginning my first quarter in school on the same day. On campus, we had a candlelight vigil in honor and memory of the families, friends, and loved ones who lost their lives in the attack. Just a few months ago on Father's Day 2002, my grandmother passed. It took me awhile to let go and let God. I even had a student in my class whose birthday is today. It was acknowledged with a Birthday certificate and 2 American Flags. My students knew what happened on that day, and shared their own experiences with me.
