Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I had just arrived to work and had been sitting at my desk when a coworker came in and said she'd just heard that a plane had hit the world trade center. I searched the radio stations but couldn't find anything. Reports were sketchy at first and i couldn't find the real story so i logged onto CNN.com to see if they had anything. Finally on a radio station they were giving the story when suddenly the newscaster just said oh my god, a 2nd plane has hit the other world trade center. My work decided that anyone who didn't feel safe could leave. My ride home was filled with fear and uneasiness. I was on my cell phone with my friend asking if he'd heard anything new when the service just dropped. I had gotten to my friends house and there were a bunch of them already there. We sat around watching the news, watching what had happened and wondering how this could of happen. I've been scared before in my life but i've never felt this before. It baffled me that this happened. I was watching them replay the 2nd plane hit and all i could feel was sorrow for the people on those planes. It sickens me that some person of the same genus as us could be this sick and twisted. And to have followers who think the same is just terrible. The thoughts that must have been going through the passengers and the workers in the building i can't even imagine. This after all is America, the land of the free, and suddenly it had turned to the land of the frightened. I wasn't sure of what i could do but i kept hearing that people were hurt and there was a shortage of blood. I went to the hospital with my friends and gave my donation. The weeks following it were very frightening. When the anthrax scare started it affected me alot because my job is as a mailroom coordinator, which requires me to open each piece of mail that comes into our building and get it to its destination. When it all happened my work provided me with everything i'd need but i still felt scared because of everything. To the families and friends i'm sorry for your loss. In a way we all lost someone, our brothers and sisters in our expansive home, America.
