911DA Story: Story

I will never forget the day. My classmates and I learned over the intercom from our principal that our nation had been attacked. There was so much going through my mind, so many questions, many left unanswered. As the day progressed and we got more and more details it became unbearable to imagine, the damage and loss of precious lives. As I looked into the face of a friend who had an uncle on the 66th floor of Tower 2, I saw what the pain and feelings that must have been in so many families eyes. As days went by and so many stories were being told I couldn't and still can't believe all that happened that day. The endless amounts of children and other family members and friends who lost someone they loved just is too hard to handle. As much as a cliche as it is I know that this is a day my grandchildren will ask me about, just like I ask mine about John F. Kennedy, and I hope that I can do my best to make sure that for generations to come the names and faces of the people lost will never be forgotten.
