911DA Story: Story
On September 11, 2001 I was in eighth grade at Washington Irving Middle School. I was in the middle of my Civics class working on an assignment when my teacher, Mrs. St. Clair heard the news of the attacks and turned on the television. At first I did not know what was going on I just saw a bunch of fire and chaos on the t.v. Then I realized what had happened and I started to think if I knew anybody that worked at the Pentagon. I knew that one of my friends dads worked there and started to worry. The rest of the day at school my teachers would not really let us get caught up in everything they wanted us to pay attention to our work. After school I got home as fast as I could and my brother was just as shocked as me, he was in 9th grade at the time. I went over to my friend?s house and watched the news till about 6 then went to my other friend?s house to see if his dad was alright, he was. The next day there were a lot of people crying and feeling the attack. I believe it was the next night there was a candlelight vigil all over our area and my family went outside to pay our respects.
