911DA Story: Story
I arrived at work ready to begin just another day. The conference room closest to my office had a very large meeting going on and suddenly the door opened and someone screamed that a plane had hit one of the World Trade Center buildings. Everyone in my area crammed into that conference room to see what was going on. My most vivid memories were watching the second plane going into the second tower and then staring in disbelief as both towers collapsed. I could not believe this was happening in our country! I stayed glued to the television over the next several days. I didn't want to see the replays over and over again, but I couldn't seem to pull myself away.
My sister is a flight attendant for United Airlines and lost several co-workers that day. My heart goes out to the families of those lost and to the bravery of those New York firefighters who risked their lives to save others. They are an inspiration to me every day!
