I will never forget the day. My son, David, had stayed home from school sick that day and since he was 15 years old, I made sure he was okay and left for work. About 9:00 my phone rang and it was David. "Mom, you will never believe this, but a plane hit the World Trade Center." I didn't believe him at first, but he said he was watching CNN and looking at the pictures. I could tell he was a little shook so we talked on the phone for awhile so I could make sure he was okay. Then, from the other end of the phone I hear David, "Oh my God Mom, another one just flew up and crashed into the other tower." I sat in disbelief, knowing now that this was no accident. David went silent on the other end of the phone as did I. Then I hear "Mom, I'm freaked."

My stepson lived across the street from my office and I walked over after calming my son to see the images for myself. As I watched the news that morning tears came and remained for the remainder of the day. So senseless.......
