911DA Story: Story

I'm a civilian employee at Luke Air Force Base.I was entering the base about 0600 Arizona time, 0900 New York time. I usually listen to one of funny wake you up morning radio stations as was the case that morning. Instead of hearing laughter and music, I was surprised to hear the urgency and the fear in the broadcaster's voice. As soon as I was at my desk my wife called me at work and told me to get to a TV. I just stood there in disbelief. It looked like a Hollywood movie, but it surely was not. The Air Force immediately went to Delta, the highest state of alert. They sent non-essantial personel home for three days. That was where I was just glued to the major news stations. It was like dejavue for me. I remember being in High School orchestra in 1963 when the anouncement of JFK's assaination came over the school loudspeaker. I thought that that was worst news that I could ever hear. Live and learn how cruel man can be to his own brother. I pray that some day we can all live and die in Peace!
