Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I had over slept by about an hour that morning and was awakened by a call at 6:30 a.m. (PST) from my boyfriend. Since I wasn't fully awake I couldn't understand what he was telling me, so I just became irritable and snappy, asking him to repeat again what he was trying to tell me. After it sunk in I quickly turned on the television and was stunned to watch the second tower collapse. I quickly showered and got ready for work, but I was in a kind of shock. I remembered that I had to give two major presentations that day at work and I wondered how I was going to get through them. When I got to work there was security all over the place. We all tried to pretend and "act normal" but it was very difficult. We all felt vulnerable and completely shocked that this could have happened. Remarkably, I was able to complete my presentations, however, I went home soon after them. So did the most of the rest of my fellow employees. I remember thinking, I have lost my innocence regarding my safety and security in the USA.......I will never feel that safe again. And I remember feeling an indignant rage against a then unknown enemy which I had never felt before. Never before in my lifetime had I ever been so deeply and personally affected by the events of that day; never before had I taken something so very personally. It wasn't just a remote event happening in some other country; it was practically in my backyard. I still ask myself, How could this have happened?
