the day was shot as the TV was the focus.

I quickly received emails
phone calls, discussions
of shock, of horror

I received emails of gore
and emails of beauty

We prayed, cried and hugged
in the following days

More emails, more sentiment
the hawks and doves divided

Some old doves wore new talons
some old hawks had softer beaks

911 an emergency, a wakeup call
woke me up

The incident is not important
the reaction is

What happenned is physical, material, earthbound
the reaction could be, but shouldn't be

while hate and vengeance were preached

I wondered why, what will it solve
won't war always begets war

Wasn't WWI the war to end all wars

Weren't Hiroshima and Nagosaki horrific enough to remember

Didn't enough sons and dads die in Korea and Vietnam

Isn't 25% of Iraqi's enough people to eliminate

Isn't it time to stop

Buddha, Krishna, Moses, Jesus, Mohammed, and others
preached peace, unconditional love, forgiveness,
acceptance, gratitude..

Who is your leader, guide, mentor
