He was working @ a college in Columbus, OH. As we where talking & before I got the TV turned on the 2nd plane hit. I could not believe it. I can still see the image of that plane hitting, like most Americans do. I felt so alone. My two teenage children were at school & my parents were camping. I did get a hold of my mother on her cell phone & was telling her the horrible news when the Pentagon was hit. I remember pacing in my house. I felt the need to help someone. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: 9-11 I remember ?it? quite well and I will never forget it. I remember when ?it? all started. I was sleeping in my room. I heard my mom scream. So I got up and started to run down the stairs. Then my mom said, ?Oh my god?. I got to her and said, ?What happened? What?s wrong?? My mom said that there was a terrorist on a plane that had just hit the World Trade Center. The World Trade Center is where the United States and other countries financial headquarters are located. I was home because I was sick. My mom went to work and told me to keep it on that channel and call her if something else went wrong. So I told her I would. Something did go wrong. I watched for about twenty more minutes and the second plane hit the second tower. I was in total shock because I had just realized that one of my relatives was working in the World Trade Center. I was sick of the commentator rambling on about things that she didn?t even know about. I turned it to NBC Today. All they did was show the ?Towers?. I watched for an hour and the second tower began to fall. After it fell my brother had called to see if we were okay. Then my cousin called. I asked if she was okay. She said yes and that she was sick today so she didn?t go to work. She was the one that worked in the World Trade Tower. I called my mom and told her the good news. She didn?t talk much because she was watching the news at the restaurant. She was stuck to the television. She probably forgot that I was on the phone as I was still watching the news and the newscaster started to talk. I watched for a little while as the first tower came crashing down. I was thinking about all the people that died in the plane crash. Then it hit me, what about all the people that died in the collapse of the towers? When my step dad got home I wondered if he had heard what was going on. He said yes and that?s why he came home so early. Then we sat down and watched the Ground-Zero site. They were just starting to talk about the Pentagon. The Pentagon had also been hit with an aircraft. I asked myself, ?What kind of people would do this?. The announcers then said terrorism. I asked what do terrorists have to do with this? I don?t really think that the people were from the United States. Then I heard them say this terrorist could be associated with the people in Afghanistan. So I realized all the people in the United States are going to hate and kill all the people of Afghanistan. Come to find out it was only a group of people called the Taliban. Then the President of the United States, which is President Bush, said that the United States is going into war with the Taliban army. That means that they may have a draft and I might be going into the war, that is if it is over before I am eighteen years of age. That scares me because I might not see my family for the years I am in the service. I was shocked. At first i thought it was an accident, but later that day when the other plane hit the other tower i realized it was on purpose. When the towers collapsed couldn't believe all those people died. That day changed me by showing me how lucky i am to have a family and even a life. I felt sorry for all those people who had lost friends and family. I then realized i should be happy to be alive. The world now is much different. Mainly security and fear. Everyone looks at life differently now. But i think all that has happened it only brought us closer together. That is how i felt on September 11 2001. Tell us your story: i was 10 when the pentagon was hit. i am now 14. i have a story, just like everyone else in this country. the only difference is, that nobody has ever listened before. everyone was shocked. rumores were flying around the 5th grade faster than the flights that hit the pentagon and the twin towers - san fransisco is bombed. the white house was hit too. the president is dead. new york is a pile of ash. everyone is dead. everyone will be dead. but the one thing, no matter where i went - "the pentagon only has four sides! its a square now!" that might seem amusing, but it definitely wasnt then. my father was an officer in the army. he worked in DC, and i knew he went into the pentagon a lot. i spent the entire day listening to the announcements. "please send so-and-so to the office for pick-up". but it was never me, and that more than anything was what worried me. i wasnt sure what would happen if something had happened to my dad. would my mom come and get me, and my brother and sister? or would she leave us at the schools, presuming we were safer, and not wanting to worry us? my dad had stayed home from work that day. i was lucky. hundreds of other kids werent. but i have an even deeper revelation, one that i did not learn of until much later, after being assured that my dad was safe. in my dad's last 3 years in the army, he was in charge of the Litigation Division, or LitDiv. the offices ran at Ballston, in DC. i had been there many times, and even had a favorite paralegal who took me to get fries. but what i didnt know was that LitDiv was only in Ballston because their offices at the Pentagon were being renovated. a few weeks before the Pntgn was hit, the military considered moving LitDiv back into their offices, and moving the next 1/5 out in to Ballston. they decided instead to move the next 1/5 into the newly renovated offices for the time being. my dads offices. the very same offices that were hit by a plane only a week later. my father was supposed to have a dentist's appointment in the Pentagon. It seemed like it was going to be an ordinary school day when I first woke up, but I was very wrong. I saw the images of the Trade Centers burning on the T.V. and I didn't know what to think. At first I thought some random pilot had just crashed, but when I heard about the Pentagon and saw images of it burning I knew that wasn't the situation. As much as I wanted to find out more I had to leaave for school. When I arrived there everyone shared the puzzlement I did. In all of my clases not much work got done because the T.V. was on showing the same horrifying over and over of the planes crashing into the towers, the people jumping, the pentagon burning, and finally the towers coming down. It's kind of a shame that it took this terribly tradegy and the loss of many lives to unit the American people. My mother had begun to lose motor control of her right leg. We feared this meant the lung cancer for which she'd been treated in the spring had metastasized into her brain. Our day was already full. Despite her leg, Mom was hosting a luncheon for friends at noon. Afterwards other friends would join us for a presentation about one of Mom's many craft passions, scrapbooking. We'd already had our first cup of tea when Dad turned on CNN to hear the morning news. The first plane -- a small plane, they said at first -- had just hit the North Tower. We sat down to learn more. In horror we watched the second plane hit the South Tower, understanding, instantly, that these strikes were no accident. We sat, mesmerized, horrified, in tears. At 10, the first call came. "Is lunch still on?" I looked at my Mom. Without question, she answered, "Life goes on." Still in pajamas at 11, I spoke with Mom's doctor to schedule a brain MRI for that afternoon. "Already," I thought, "life goes on." Outside, the river remained smooth, a peaceful reflection of the early-autumn sky, as far as imaginable from the destruction we watched in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. My Mom died of metastasized lung cancer on May 1. Some mornings, the river is like glass, just as it was on September 11th. Life goes on. A couple of minutes later he said, "oh my god" they hit the other tower. We all ran upstairs to the 3rd floor Congressional office where there was a T.V. and saw what was happening. Everyone was in total shock. Next thing we knew it hit the pentagon and that took the cake because I had relatives and co-workers who worked there. I started to call my sister and my mom because this was my first government job and I knew nothing about D.C. at all. The phones just stop working and our building was evacuated. I felt alone and lost, sitting in Farragout North Park crying because I had know way of getting in contact with anyone. The only thing that would work was my pager, my dad and everyone else was paging and I couldn't call them back. I sat alone for about an hour or more when finally my phone worked and I was able to call my sister who gave me directions to get to Suitland Metro Station to meet her. The streets were crazy and people were saying don't take the metro because of bomb threats. Planes were flying over my head and I made the choice that if I didn't go try to take that metro I would be stuck in that park alone for a long time. Finally I reached suitland metro and saw my sister. I cried so much because I was okay and finally out of D.C. Unfortunately for a friend of mine Edmund G. Young Jr who worked for a contractor at the Pentagon wasn't so lucky. I will never forget September 11, 2001 for as long as I live. Now Im going to give you my thoughts, September 11th 2001, a day which I will never forget. At the time I was attending St. Peters Boys high school on Staten Island. 1st period, Religion class, a few minutes into the class our principal came into our classroom and told us that a plane had hit the World Trade Center, the class started praying and I didnt, I was in total shock and didnt know what to do. Second period someone came into U.S. History and told us that the Pentagon had been hit, I then knew something was up. I was never told about the second plane . At lunch I went down to the bookroom to see Mrs. Allen and I asked her what was going on, she told me the two towers had fallen and that nothing was left.I didnt even believe her, I couldnt. My mother came later and picked me up, hysterical, she couldnt stop crying. My father is a Battalion Chief at Battalion 22 for the FDNY, my uncle Robert is stationed at a firehouse in Brooklyn, my other uncle is stationed at a firehouse in Brooklyn, and finally my uncle Dave who died on September 11th was stationed at Engine 226, Brooklyn. That day my mother and I went home and she said that my father was alright, she also said my other two uncles called and said they were alright. The only one who hadnt called was my uncle Dave. I sat there watching the planes hit the tower time and time and time again on the television. They just kept showing them being hit and then falling. My father wouldnt come home for three days, he came home covered in soot, or should I say, ashes of the victims. Days went on, my uncle was still missing, we all had bursts of hope that he would survive, we would hear stories of small voids that people could have survived in. Days turned into weeks and we soon came to realize that my uncle wasnt coming home. My father was right there the day of September 11th, right across he street, he set up a command post, the first tower fell and he ran into an underground parking garage with other emergency rescue men, he later got out with some other firefighters and ran behind the glass building next to the World Financial Center, thank God he is still alive. He lost countless friends and his own brother. Things will never be the same for my family and I. Months later we had a memorial for my uncle, a mass. We went in limos and firefighters lined the strees, bagpipes played and people like you wouldnt believe were there, it was a lot to deal with. A year later September 11th 2002 I would get up and run throughout the streets with an American Flag, people loved it and went nuts. That day was also a day which killed me, our family decided to bury a casket, an empty one, you know that really kills me deep down inside that not only did they take my uncles life but that these lowlifes left nothing, empty..... The New York City Fire Department has played a major impact on my life, I would ride with my father when was younger and once we actually responded to the World Trade Center, its just strange to think that I was once there. But one thing is sure, I will never ever forget September 11th for the rest of my life and every Firefighter and Police Office that ran into those buildings that day are true HEROES!!!! God Bless the victims of those attacks and God Bless the true heroes who brought down that plane in Pennsylvannia and stopped it from hitting another building and taking more innocent lives. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was just in a state of shock. I couldn't believe that something so horrible was unfolding right in front of our very eyes. To this day I am still in disbelief. And I have a lot of questions--such as why this happened to us, why were so many innocent people killed. It just doesn't seem fair. One of my older brothers ,George, just got done serving a four-year term in the military. He had been stationed in Iraq for 6 monthes during part of his term. He doesn't talk much about it, but I know that he has been through a lot, and I really feel for him.I also feel for all the men and women who lost their lives, who were seriously injured, and who lost loved ones. Especially today, it being the fifth anniversary of 9/11, is a living reminder of the horror that it seems like this country only endured yesterday. I attend college and this morning I had a class. I was sitting in the cafe studying before my class began when I noticed that they were showing footage of the 9/11 memorial serviceson television. I couldn't watch it because I was starting to cry. It's a really big wake-up call to me because so many of us spend so much time worrying about the trivial things life hands us, and there are people who have had HUGE losses to overcome. September 11th has definitely opened up my eyes in a lot of ways. That's all I really have to say. I just wanted to stop for a moment and reflect on my feelings. And I also wanted to say to the relatives and loved ones of those who were taken that day: If any of you ever read this, I am so, so, sorry for your loss. You have my condolences and you are in my prayers. To those who survived the catastrophy that day but were seriously injured: Please take care and know that you are definitely heroes. And all of you have my condolences and blessings as well. To all the men and women who lost their lives on that fateful day. What can I say? You all gave your lives that day, but you left behind a legacy that we will never, ever forget. You guys are heroes in every sense of the word. You'll remain our guardian angels until the day when we will see you in heaven. We will never, ever, let your memory go and you'll ALWAYS be in our thoughts and prayers.Finally, last but not least, to all of the survivors of that horrible day--I honestly don't think that there was not one person that didn't help someone that day. In my opinion, we ALL were heroes. We all suffered tremendously when and after the attacks occured. And some of us are still suffering. But when it came right down to it, we all bonded together as one, and we all came to each other's need. Because that is what The United States of America is all about. United We Stand, as one nation. I was so amazed to know that a World Icon was hit then the news showed Tower 2 and the people outside building,people in the street and the people who were trying to get out. I immediately started praying because I have never seen anything like that only in the movies and those were created images. The people in the street running for shelter and the people who were trapped inside buildings near and on the street. I cried,prayed,and could only wonder who could have done something so sinister. I am a mother of three and a wife and I only had dreams of working at the World Trade Center. I was scared even here in Georgia. The families lives that were changed forever and so was mine. The passengers on the flight that fought for their lives and the passengers on flight that did not have enough time to react and the people that were trapped in the building; my heart went out to them. The world was changed forever. September 11th should be declared a National Holiday because of the tragic event. Tell us your story: I woke up late that moring cause for the first time since he had been born my soon to be two month old son had slept threw the night for the first time. I was enjoying the moring quitness did not have the televison or radio on I knew nothing was going on out ouf the ordanary. My best friend had been staying with us to help with the baby when her mother called and told us what was going on. Neither of us belived it. We turned on the tv and saw it. It was the saddest most horrible thing I think I have ever seen. All I could do was hold my son and tell him I was so sorry for bring him into this hateful world. Not because I dont love him but because that morning that was all that was being felt. The sight of thoses two planes are forever inbeded in my mind and i will forever pray for thoses that were lost on 9/11. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: The date is Tuesday, September 12, 2006; yesterday was the fifth anniversary of this horrible event. To me, it doesn't seem possible that five years have elapsed. To the best of my knowledge, I did not personally know anyone who perished in New York, the Pentagon, or that field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Yet, I can remember that tragic day as if it just happened. On the way to work yesterday, I was listening to a local radio station who was doing a memorial tribute to all those lost five years ago. I cried all the way to work. When I got home in the evening, I saw snippets of memorials from all three sites, and again, I cried. As I watched all the people left behind mourn their loss, as bad as I felt for the adults, my feelings intensified as children were shown, mourning the loss of a parent, aunt, uncle, or grandparent they would have dim memories of or not have any knowledge of, whatsoever. I cannot even begin to imagine what life will be like for this generation as more anniversaries pile up. My thoughts and prayers are with them, especially. When I watch old movies that have the skyline of New York, I feel a new wash of sadness at what was lost. I know people have said that all the movies made about this national day of tragedy should not have been made this soon or not at all. I disagree with them. I think a lot of people are starting to forget what happened and what was lost. Darryl Worley has a song that includes lyrics that say the footage should be shown every day so people won't forget. I so totally agree with him. This is similar to the Holocaust of World War II. Sadly, there are individuals who have forgotten about the Holocaust or do not believe it happened at all. That is just so totally wrong! I continue to pray for peace and unity in the world. I believe that one day it will happen. I also pray for the ones who lost someone on this tragic day, and I pray that eventually, their pain will lessen. I also pray that we will be able to bring our armed forces home very soon and I pray for everyone who has such a bad opinion of President Bush. I cannot imagine what would have happened had anyone else been in office. I believe we would be much worse off than we are now. One day, the world will come together in love and brotherhood. On the morning of September 11, 2001, I awoke to a radio alarm in my suite at the Inn at Seventh Mountain, near Bend, Oregon. I set the alarm for six o'clock as I was not satisfied with the outline of my remarks written the previous evening. Bob Edwards seemed uncertain and off-balance and unusual pauses came through the NPR broadcast. Still groggy, I rolled over, thinking at some level in my fog that even the best in the business can have off days. Someone said that the New York City election would surely be postponed. Postponed? Why would you postpone an election. I actually thought it was a garbage strike, a transportation strike, or both. Then came the words: "World Trade Center...the airplane was a passenger jet..." I threw off my blankets and ran to turn on CNN. It was all there in unimaginable, unthinkable detail. Repeated calls to my son, an actor living living in Brooklyn, were futile. I had my laptop for my speech. It is loaded with AOL. My son uses AOL! Frantically, I logged on and saw his screen name. We filled the next minutes with instant messages. He and his wife were okay. Scared but okay. They had been on the roof of their brownstone and seen the first tower building. Now they were in the apartment trying to reach relatives. They had no TV, no radio, no cell phone--their transmitter was on one of the towers. I watched with horror as the second plane hit. My fingers flashed across my computer keyboard to let my son know. "I know Dad," he said. "We saw it right after the plane hit and its smoke and stench our way." "No, no!" I typed. "ANOTHER plane. It has hit the second tower." Silence for several minutes. Then Kelly came back on, comprehending the unspeakable: "Oh God, oh dad, everything's changed forever." A hour later, I scrapped my speech and spoke about the international and domestic terror. I was mildly chastised for this--and I take no comfort in it--but I said I was convinced that it had been bin Laden. The time was eleven o'clock in the morning, Pacific time. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was at a Cocoa Police Department with a client and her child who were getting a free car seat. One of the officers came downstairs and told some of us who were waiting in the lobby for the officer to train us on how to properly put in carseats said that the World Trade Centers were hit. I looked at her and was kind of confused because I had no inclination of what she was saying. I kept looking at others who were in the lobby waiting also and looked even more confused. Then it hit me what she said. I finally took my client and her child home and rushed back to the office and talked to my other co-workers and they were upset, scared and astonished as I was. Then I heard that a plane crashed in Pennsylvania and that another plane hit the other Tower in New York. I then realized that something was not right here. I thought that maybe the pilot was confused or something. I became scared and nervous and did not know what to do. Then we got a call from our Program Director that the offices were closed and for everyone to go home. I went to pick up my two boys from Daycare and went home. All day long on the television were images of the tragedies and how so many people were hurt. You did not know if they were either stuck in the buildings or got out. All I know was that then two buildings collapsed, people running all over the place, crying, screaming. That day will never be forgotten. I still have those images of that day. I pray that someday all of us will eventually get on with our lives and live day by day. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Tell us your story: REPORT FROM WORLD TRADE CENTER (from a couple of old railroad associates) Several of us from the firm were in Lower Manhattan this morning for a meeting at the "2 Broadway Building". Several minutes before 9 AM a security guard poked his head in the door and announced that we needed to evacuate the building. We assumed it was a routine false fire alarm. In retrospect, there was an unusual mount of sincerity in his tone. Casually, and jokingly we took the elevators to the lobby. At ground level we heard chatter that a plane had hit the World Trade Center (WTC), and were moved into the street. Once on the street, we saw a large amount of smoke above the buildings in the direction of the WTC. We decided to get a "better view". We walked east to what I believe was the corner of Trinity Place and Battery Place, maybe 6 blocks south of the WTC. We were looking north and had a clear view of Tower 1 which was fully engulfed in fire at about 7/8ths of the way up. The fire we could see was on the southwest corner and consuming several floors. Within a minute there was a "take-off like roar" of an aircraft from the left of our view, it was headed northeast towards Tower 2. It was very close, and was a large commercial aircraft with a dark blue underbelly, banking hard to it's left.It took maybe 3 seconds from "roar" to "disappearance". It appeared that the plane was doing a fly-by and would pass on the other side of the Tower from where we were; depth perception was not working well. It then just buried itself into to Tower 2, at mid-height Like a knife into a cake. There was a huge fireball and we felt the heat. Then it was gone. No plane sticking out, nothing but a small fire, billowing smoke and a large diagonal scorch mark on the south side of the building. Then the huge flurry of office paper blowing east, downwind from the hit. Like in a ticker tape parade. It was nothing less than surreal. You know when you see such a scene in a "Hollywood" action film and you think, "...that was so fake looking...". Well, it was totally fake looking. The plane just disappeared, as though the building consumed it. No protruding tail section, no falling plane parts. The plane was gone. A man repeatedly screamed: "This is war! This is war!" We scattered, three of us heading south to Battery Park, taking Shelter next to a large bronze statue in front of the gates to the old fort. Alex headed in another direction. From there we manned the cell phones and viewed the two burning Towers. At this point the air was filled with sirens and emotions that consumed the crowd of business persons and tourists. Many of the tourists having just stepped ashore from a tour boat that afforded them a full view of the bizarre happenings. As minutes passed, and nothing further occurred, other than the consuming fire and the growing number of emergency personnel, there was almost a calming effect. Then the reports that people were jumping and the shout that "it" was toppling. I looked up and Tower 2 was falling down and slightly to the right (southwesterly). The sound was unusual, not a crash, nor a roar, but more like the sound of a waterfall of glass shards. The crowd ran towards, and past us. Thinking there no threat of it actually falling on us we moved only slowly to the southeast, towards the water. However, the wind was out of the northwest, blowing the cloud in our direction. But the cloud was not smoke, it was airborne debris. Sheet rock dust--110 stories of it. A cloud rolled down all streets in all directions. It stayed close to the ground and was funneled between the buildings as a billowing tsunami. It approached rapidly. The crowd moved more quickly, but not running and without panic. Conversations in all languages were heard. At this point we had not much choice of where to go, since we were at the southern end of the Battery; so we moved east along the bulkhead. Unfortunately, this was in the path of the "cloud". People fabricated masks. I tore off a sleeve of my dress shirt, doused it with drinking water and tied it over my mouth and nose. George, Bob and I stayed together, still moving along the bulkhead. The ash began to fall, visibility diminished to a few feet, people were taking refuge in the bulkhead structure; huddling in fetal positions. This is when I feared the worst. I remembered accounts of the Mt. St. Helena's eruption, and how the majority of the deaths were related to poisonous gas and particulate matter. Eventually there was no where to go since the crowd could move no further, other than into the water. The three of us huddled and strategized. We needed to get up-wind. Fighting the flow of the crowd and against the advice of emergency personnel, we doubled back to get west and upwind of the "cloud". Unfortunately, we were getting closer to the WTC. However, we were eventually in "clear air". Ironically, it was a clear, blue sky day with a refreshing breeze. We were on the promenade looking towards Hoboken, NJ and adjacent to the Museum of Jewish Heritage, possibly another irony. From here we had a clear and close view of Tower 1. It was inevitabl That it would collapse; but our plan was for the next debris cloud to pass downwind of us. The three of us "hunkered down". The crowd continued to move in the direction from which we came. Emergency personnel advised us to follow. Battle-worn fire fighters passed by, some with victims on gurneys. It was a scene from the Nightly News. We held our ground. "Been there, Done that". Tower 1 soon collapsed. It fell floor by floor, in rapid succession. The weight of each upper floor overloading the next. It did not fall over, it collapsed downward. The debris clouds then rolled out in all directions. Our plan paid off and the worst of it never reached us. Ferries started arriving to shuttle people from the Battery over to New Jersey. George elected for a ferry. Bob and I considered heading Up-town, but not knowing how to get past what was left of the WTC we waited. Soon an old rusted out retired fire boat pulled along the bulkhead. I think it was the "Garvey". The captain announced that he would shuttle people to Pier 40 in Manhattan. We jumped on-board the "Garvey". Again the irony, a refreshing boat ride up the Hudson River with a unique view of devastation. On our way up the Hudson the crew noted that they had been ordered to drop us off and return quickly to the scene to assist fire fighters as a pumper boat. The Garvey returned to service! NYC subways and commuter rail service shutdown, all bridges, tunnels, and airports closed. Bob and I walked from the Village to Mid-town. The roads were closed and we walked north up 7th and 8th Avenues. People were huddled around parked automobiles listening to the radio for bits of information. We heard that the Pentagon had been hit. Faces were long, but the further we got from the WTC, the more emotionally removed the people were from the devastation. Bob and I feared that the wind would shift and send the cloud north, straight up through Manhattan; no one else seemed to share this thought. We moved on quickly. The two of us must have looked strange. Covered white in soot; me with only one sleeve, walking up the middle of the street. We passed a large hospital. There was a receiving area set up to handle the arriving emergency vehicles. There were lines of people lined around the block and around the next, on both sides. There were people every where; they were there to donate blood. New Yorkers were out in force to do there part! We reached our hotel, provisioned ourselves should the city run low on food and we have settled in to try understand what the hell took place; plus, give hope to those that are missing, and not as fortunate. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was scheduled to teach a class on Sept. 11, 2001. I heard by phone that a small plane had struck the WTC. We went to internet sites and saw pictures. Later our internet connection was lost (not sure why). Others at work were able to watch the news in conference rooms. I was shocked by the images, unbelievable. I heard about the second plane and then a third and fouth on the way, somewhere. We cancelled the class I was to facilitate, who could concentrate. My work let us go get our kids when the governor announced schools were closing. I was so afraid of what would happen next, I didn't know what to tell an 8 and 10 year old, the schools had not told them. We went home, I told them what I knew and I let them see it one time. All planes were grounded that evening, the skies were so quiet. I think I saw some war plans the next night. I've seen some amazing TV programs since Sept. 11 that have helped me understand things. I still cannot imagine being one of the people on those planes or being in the top of the WTC. I've seen pictures, but was never there, what an amazing set of buildings. I can't decide if they should build again, I say no if they will continue to be a target. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: As the first real attack on the US occured since the War of 1812, I was sleeping since it was 5:46 am Pacific time. As usual when I woke I ignored the TV and Radio and proceeded to go on-line to read the news but for some reason I could not get onto the news sites on the net at 7:30 am pacific/ 10:30am eastern, so I read email and such, took a shower, dressed, and started driving to work. I neded to get gas and when I pulled into the station at about 8:30 pacific/ 11:30 eastern, all the cars radios were not playing music but were instead all playing news which totally struck me as odd. I asked the guy next to me in an old beat-up pickup "is anything going on?" "Hell", he stated, the World Trade Center was hit by jetliners and so was the Pentagon and other airliners are heading off their flight paths." In shock, after filling my tank I dirverted my normal pth to work and went down the street to my best friends shop. Watched TV there and the TV only showed a huge cloud of smoke over NYC because both towers were down. After a half hour, I shot back to my home, called into work stating I would be late, and turned on the TV and the Internet. My new neighbor was totally upset having just moved to the LA area from NYC 3 months earlier. Went to work listening to newsradio and becomming more and more freaked. Working in the advertising dept for a newspaper, I knew I had to be there to accept ad execute the massive changes in advertising from my clients. My best friend's cousin Worked in the WTC, the tower that fell later in the afternoon. It took her over 24 hours to reach home in NJ and everyone thought she was dead. I had met her once. My concern about NYC was that a domono effect would cause buildings to topple and topple. The Pentagon was a disaster. The fact that the 4th airliner turned over the Cleveland area (my hometown) gave me the creeps. As I learned about the organization that did this, the more I saw the links politically with the German Nazi Party of the 1930's. I guess the thing that bothers me is that so much of the world, seeing it live on TV, hearing Bin Laden pople admit they did it, still think the Jews did it or the US government did it. That is more frightening to me then the event... it is litrally arguing that the daylit sky is Red. Masive majorities of Muslins around the world think jews did it or the US even after hearing Bin Laden and his people admit it. Amazing that people think they are civilized. I think most if not all of the civilized Muslims have moved to the West already and the worst of them have taken advantage of this to infiltrate the West and worse will happen. I also believe Iraq has a major hand in this because after the event suddenly Saddam talks in religious terms and Sadam is the type that would be behind something like this but he would supply bin laden and his followers with special radio channels and equipment to do it so it could not be tracked. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was walking to school that morning with my new friend Sandra, her and family had just moved from California that weekend and this was going to be her first day in school. I walked her into the councelers office, she got her paper work and I showed her around the school and introduced her to her teachers. We went back into the office at around 9 o'clock and our principle Mr. Wire came on the intercome and told every one to turn on the TV to the news, so every one did. What we all saw and heard forever changed our lives. At the time there was only one of the buildings rolling with smoke. Me and Sandra just stared at the TV then looked at each other.We both had tears in our eyes. We kept watching the news and then there was another plane it looked like it was going slow but then it hit the other tower. I just stood there with my hand over my mouth. Truthfully I didn't know what to do. I was scared for our country and for the victims in the towers. I am truly very sorry for the families and friends of the victims, I pray for you often that God will put peace in your heart and that something like this will never happen again. The September 11th events upset me alot and I decided that day that I was going to all that I could to prevent something like this from ever happening again. In Feburary of 2004 I enlisted into the US Army. A few weeks after I graduted in May I headed off to bootcamp. Now I am stationed over in Germany. We are going to be going "Down Range" soon and I can't wait. I hope that all of this war, and terrorism will stop soon and that we can have World Peace at last. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: September 11 is my only daughter's birthday and wedding anniversary. She had joined the Air National Guard and was stationed at Sheppard AFB in Texas. Just after the second plane hit the WTC, I was going to call her to wish her Happy Birthday when she called and said she only had one minute to talk that they were on "lock down" and would call again when she could. It was a while before we heard from her and while she was stationed there, she was told not to draw attention to herself by marching in formation or wearing her uniform off-base when they were allowed to go again. We had no idea if she would be called up or transferred to another location, and with five children and a husband at home, it was really hard for them. Now, she faces a trip to Kuwait in either November or December for anywhere from two weeks to one year. We're behind her all the way, but are very concrned for her safety. However, she realizes that a person who swears to fight for their country must live up to that pledge. God Bless America and those who died for our freedom!
