Tell us your story: About two weeks before the terrorist attacks, I had had a dream that when I had awaken I was so taken back, I didn't understand it. I shared this with one of my friends, I said " I had this dream that really shook me up, It was of a beautiful day I could see the sun shinning, when all of a sudden these dark thick clouds came from below and moved towards the sun. When the first cloud touched the sun little speckles of red began filling it. The sun filled up with these red speckles and when the sun was full blood poured out." I then was surrounded by others praying the rosary. She said to me "Well you know what to do, you need to pray!" On the morning of September 11th, 2001 I was awaken by my phone ringing, it was my older sister. Kay began "Carrie, turn on the tv, a plane just went through the World's Trade Center. They think that we maybe under attack." I was trying to grasp what she was telling me. I ran to turn on the tv waking my husband. I stood there watching as I held the phone in my hand and witnessed the second plane fly into the second building of the World Trade Center. I told my sister that I would call her back. I ran to my oldest sons room where he came and joined us in the living room. My younger girls where waking, I quickly poured there cereal and went back to veiwing the news. Breaking news the pentegon was then struck. My thoughts where "my God what is happening." I then saw the first building begin to collaspe, I screamed "OH, my God all the people!" I began praying and crying and screaming all at once. Then it seemed like moments later we watched the second tower come down. I ran out of my house I couldn't believe it. My mind would not reason with what was happening, typically, I wanted to run! Where would I go. I Came inside and began calling my loved ones. My second oldest son came home from school, he said he couldn't take it, he had to leave. My husband and oldest son had to get to work. I didn't want them to leave, I believed that this was going to happen over and over again. I received another phone call from my sister Kay, that gas prices would sky rocket. I then prepared my little ones to go to the station and store. I was in a panic. As I was filling up on gas I heard over the radio that another plane was hijacked. My thoughts where to get enough food in my home for a few days, but we didn't have much money, so I filled up on necessities. As I was driving home, hearing that the next airline may be shot down, I thought why am I thinking of my self, I slowed down and began to pray. I prayed the rosary and then I was inspired to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I then felt a deepening of prayer calling upon St. Michael the Arch angel... I felt calmer now, still in shock but I then turned to my children and began focusing back on my duties. After arriving home and putting away the groceries, we began our school day, trusting in God. In the afternoon when my oldest daughter arrived home from school, I went to church and visited our Lord, in the Most Blessed Sacrement, I began to weep. Others entered the room, business men and women, elderly people, some where completly quite while others you could hear there groaning. I just prayed for all of the families, for all the souls that where lost. Late in the afternoon I received a phone call that my parish would have a vigil that evening. I went and the church was full! Father who was so very sad lead is in many prayers, when he began the rosary, I then recalled my dream realizing that this is what it meant. The next few weeks I continued to try to get back to a normal life, but I knew that it was time to bring people together. I then planned and met with my pastor to begin the "Be not Afaid Holy Hours", Mother Teresa idea, on optaining peace within the families, or nation. So we began. We had great attendance in the beginning then it grew less and less. We know meet in my home, but one day God's people will be informed that the attack is on family life. My thoughts today on the one year anniversity are saddness, mourning but also I have this deep sense to be not afraid! That God acted in helping so many through people and that we must trust that he will continue to take care of all of our needs. I remember getting ready when my husband told me that a plane had hit a building. My first reaction was that it was an accident. When my husband said that another plane had hit a building, it was then that I knew it was no accident, but it still didn't come to me that it was a terrorist attack. The whole time I was at the hospital, I kept an eye on the news. By the time that I had my daughter, everything was gone. To this day, I believe that a very tragic thing happened, but by bringing a child into this world at that day, seemed to bring something positive to it. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I work as a defense contractor in northern Virginia. Until June 2001, I had been working in the Pentagon. On September 11, 2001, I was working at a nearby office building in the Clarendon area. After doing my "morning chores," my plan was to take the Metro over to the Pentagon for a haircut, banking (my credit union has a branch there), and to pop in on the folks I used to work with. My first inkling that something had happened came with a co-worker running down the aisle, yelling that a plane had hit the Twin Towers. I walked into an adjacent office and turned on the small TV there. I watched as the 2nd plane hit the other tower. Everyone there said, "This is a terrorist attack." We were in a 14-story building (on the 3rd floor) and suddenly we were looking out of the big plate-glass windows, scanning the sky for anything that might be flying towards US. Then we heard that the Pentagon had been hit and it was surreal seeing the WTC/Pentagon on split-screen on the TV and also looking out the window and seeing the black smoke billowing from the Pentagon. I called my wife (she works for another defense contractor in Vienna). She was not there, but I left a voicemail telling her what had happened and that our building was being evacuated (she knew I had planned to travel to the Pentagon that day). The "orderly evacuation" of our building turned into everyone leaving, all at once, from the underground parking garage. As I inched my car forward, wanting to get out of there into open air and trying to hear the AM radio reports, I couldn't think of anything but calling my parents and relatives and letting them know that I was OK. I got out onto Washington Blvd in Arlington and headed home. OK...inched my way home. There was a lot of traffic. People nervously scanning the air from their car windows. Other folks ALREADY flying U.S. flags from their vehicles (amazing). I tried to call my Mom from my cell, but all lines were jammed. I tried to call my wife...same deal. I finally arrived home about 45 minutes later (normally a 10-minute commute). Several of my neighbors were standing outside, looking up. By this time, Air Force fighters were screaming overhead and setting up defensive air patrols over the capital. I went inside and turned on the TV. I fixed myself a strong drink and tried to e-mail everyone I knew. Surprisingly, the Internet was not affected so I was able to let my in-laws know, as well as everyone on my mailing list, that I was fine. My parents, however, did not have a computer, so I continued trying to contact them. No dice. About 3 hours later, my first wife called to find out if I was OK. I told her to call my Mom and let her know I was fine. Amazingly, my Mom did not know anything had happened. She normally has the TV on, but for some reason, she chose not to turn it on that particular morning. I'm kinda glad she didn't see the Pentagon stuff when it happened. The rest of the day was spent watching TV, fielding phone calls and e-mails from friends and family, and just not believing what I was seeing. Tell us your story: As i walked home i recieved a phone call from an aunt telling me world war 3 had broken out and hell was loose, it must have been, she informed me of the attack and i ran to the nearest window, a man had opened his house up to passers bye on the street and was soon full of random strangers, the various emotions passed through each one of ue, and like in America we were all there for each other! My aunt was right, hounds of hell had been released! ours past and the news kept coming in, people lost dead, fathers, mothers, children, brothers... real innoscent people, this was no big hollywood film, this was sadly all so real. As the days, weeks, months and even years passed i collected everything i could newspapers, programs, magnets t-shirts, everything! then the other day, almost four years on i saw the one thing that inspired me most from that tragic time, a written comment by a 7 year old child she had said... It was a very usual morning with a lot of anxiety of new and better opportunity for him, just maybe sun is were very bright, and wind was light - it was a perfect day. I dropped my four daughters to school and went back home to pick up some other necessary tings, and in a moment we were leaving to Manhattan. The all what I was thinking about - it is my husband's future in the new company. I was praying for him, that he could get that position. In over daily routines we are watching TV every morning, but on this morning we were in such a rush, that we couldn't even think about it. When we got on the road going toward subway one of our friends called us back and asked, "Where are you going guys?" We said: "To Manhattan". "Don't you watch the news?" He replayed "No, we didn't had a time today. What happened?" we asked him. He pointed toward Downtown and said: "Look the Twin Towers is on fire. The flight crashed in it" We couldn't believe in what he said. It was really unbelievable. We got back to our house and got on the roof of our building to see with our own eyes. But there was instead of Twin Towers a black cloud of smoke. We came back to the apartment and what I remember next - we were staring on TV in sinless that was going forever. At that time South Tower started to collapse. It was a shock which one wouldn't go away so easy. At that time I realize that someone else needs my prayers more than my husband. At this moment I forgot everyone around me because what I was seeing on TV was looking very unreal to me, and I was praying that as much us possible people could get out from there a life. Than I felt, like somebody pushed me, and said: "Kids.". "Oh my God, kids!" replayed I, "My kids!" I rushed to school to pick them up, because I didn't know what to expect else. I just wanted to hold them tied next to me? Since that moment we were froze next to TV, trying to catch every single news, every single moment. We were counting every single one pulled from the ruble a life and praying to see more. But it looked like God wasn't looking toward those who were berried under the World Trade Center. But those who were pulled out from there were born for second time. Since that day I wanted to cry, but my eyes didn't let me; me eyes wanted to sleep, but my memory didn't let me; I wanted to talk, but my mouth didn't let me. It felt like I was death my self. I lost interest in things which I was enjoying not so long a go, I lost interest in life it self. And only thinking of my kids helped me to get around. Over the past year I went only few times to Manhattan and only because I had to take my guests up there, and I was bursting in tears. And after a year I still feel the same way, as at that day, or maybe worse. Still I can't go to Downtown, because I feel the pain of those who died up there and of those who they left behind them. I can't watch the news anymore because every single word about World Trade Center makes the tears to come out from my eyes. I feel so exhausted and depressed. I feel sorry for my kids because every single day they see me crying, and every single day I have to explain to them, that it is OK for mommy to cry. But it hurts me more when they seat next to me and cry too. No one from people who I know was hurt in that tragedy, but I feel like some one close to me died up there. I never expected myself to react this way on this tragedy, and I witnessed it only trough the TV, so I can't stop thinking about the people who were there when it happened. I was listening to the goofy morning dj's and I heard them say something about a plane hitting a building. My first thought was that they were joking like some kind of modern day "War of the Worlds". Then, as their voices became more serious, I figured that perhaps a small prop plane had hit. I never in my wildest, most horrific dreams, ever, EVER could have imagined what had really happened. At the time the dj's didn't really know much yet. I continued my drive to work and soon they had their televisions on and were watching the towers live. At the very moment that I hit the bump into the driveway where I work, they announced that a second plane had hit the World Trade Center. I don't remember much of what happened after that. People at work scrambled for radios and tried to get on the internet but most sites were impossible to get to or incredibly slow due to the number of surfers looking for information, explanation, condemnation. I thought of my son, 10 years old, at school and I wondered if I should go get him. But what could I do to keep him safe in this mayhem? How would I try to explain something to him that I had no grasp of myself? Reasoning that his classes are in the basement of the school building, he was as safe as he could possibly be and I decided to keep him there. I stayed at work rather than go home to my mid-rise apartment. By this time we'd heard rumours that Flight 93 made a u-turn within Cleveland's air space and the thought of those people flying over us, terrified and in so much danger was incredibly disturbing. When the Pentagon was hit I feared that other cities would be attacked as well. I pictured scenes from the movie Independence Day. Now it is one year later. I left for work early today. I didn't want to get on the freeway at 8:46 and I didn't want to pull in the driveway at work at 9:02. I'm still in some shock and I think of the events of that fateful morning every single day. A former co-worker called me to share his memories; apparently I was the one who told him about the crashes. I burst into tears as we hung up. We observed a moment of silence today. I'm wearing red, white, and blue. I'm carrying my rosary in a pocket near my heart. I'm teary and emotional. Other co-workers have come up to me and said that I was the first to tell them about the attacks. I still don't remember doing that. Tell us your story: On 9/11 I was working as a volunteer patient advocate in the ER of Loudoun County Hospital when I heard "airline..crash..World Trade Center.." on TV. For thirty-five years I was a flight attendant & union representative at United Air Lines and my ears pick up the word "crash" automatically. I went to the Waiting Room and turned up the news in time to see the second impact. I am a realist and not easily sent into denial but my immediate reaction was that someone had hijacked the TV station. Visions of King Kong and the Empire State Building flashed through my mind. We then heard about the Pentagon and incorrect other incidents and were told to set up for mass casualties. We are fifteen minutes from Dulles Airport and were told that another aircraft was hijacked and enroute. The next few hours were spent getting ready and discharging non-critical patients. However, med evac was unable to get into the air because of restrictions and the travel corridors were massive traffic jams. The ER staff went into high gear. Although the preparations were unnecessary the teamwork was exceptional. By the next day in Leesburg there were armed guards and military all over even in our supermarkets since we are close to the FAA facility. 9/11 became not just an infamous date but a 911 Emergency Call to the hearts and minds of all Americans. My age is sixty-two. I have lived through World War II and was a military dependent in Germany and recall the destruction there from the bombing. During the cold war while living in California I was taken to see an A bomb blast and remember the drills and bomb shelters. While living on an Air Force base in Texas I remember the husbands and fathers who did not return from the war. As a flight attendant I was priviledged to fly soldiers into Vietnam (MAC). During the Gulf War I again transported soldiers to and from Saudi (CRAF). I thought about those wars, the soldiers, the casualties, and about the world that my daughters would inherit. I worried about my youngest daughter in the Army Reserves and her boyfriend in the Marine Reserves. As a former union representative I recalled the time I went to the FAA complaining that their "surprise" inspection was posted in Company dispatch along with descriptions of the inspectors and precautions to be taken. My complaints fell on deaf ears. On 9/11 I was also very angry because I knew this could have been averted. Also I was wondering where the FBI & CIA had been. My thoughts were with the families of the crews. As a Hospice care worker I knew about long term problems and grief. I knew that those who had died had been taken into God's Arms but those who remained would suffer. Near the end of the day I cried when I heard how many firefighters and policemen were lost. For a short time I was a volunteer administrative member of a Fire & Rescue Volunteer Squad. Having taken the training and gotten to know the "family" concept I knew what an impact this would have. As a native New Yorker I was also very sad. I lived in NYC as a child and have visited more times than I can count. My Mom worked at Macy's when she was young, I have skated with my brother at Rockefeller Center, played in Central Park and love the Metropolitan Museum. Flying by NYC a million times and seeing the city from the ferry to Staten Island are among my happiest memories. My parents, now in their eighties, are two of the most patriotic people I know. My Mom complains everytime she goes into a government or civic building and does not see a flag. They have complained about our lack of patriotism as a nation. Two weeks after 9/11 I drove two-thousand miles across the country to and from a Reunion of the 1957 Central High School Class from Bushy Park AFB in London, England (most were military brats then). The display of red, white and blue across our country was wonderful. Our hearts and minds woke up and flags decorated our country. My life has changed since that morning. I pray more, do more and travel more. Life is a gift and I am a grateful and proud American. Our freedoms will be restricted as a tradeoff for security. I may become annoyed but prefer security. Tell us your story: I was getting ready for work when my mother called and told me that a plane had hit one of the towers of the World Trade Center. The first thought that came to mind was not terrorism, but how could a commercial jet lose control and hit a building that large? When the second plane hit there was no question. I immediately went to the TV to see what was going on and saw the towers on fire. It didn't seem real - like something out of a movie. I was shocked and horrified, but I still felt the need to attempt to go to work. When I went downstairs and was about to reach the door leading to the street, I heard my neighbors scream. I will never forget their words "Oh my God we're under attack they hit the Pentagon". Not knowing what was going on or what would be next I ran back to my apartment. After watching more of the news coverage, I needed to see it with my own eyes so I ran up to the roof of my apartment building to see the skyline that I have looked upon countless times over the years only to see those two magnifcent buildings in flames. The vivid colors and billowing smoke will forever be burned into my memory, however; at that time it seemed so surreal. When I returned to my TV, I saw the first building come down and could not believe what I was seeing. How could one of thise buildings be gone? Shortly after, the second building came down and it was truely beyond belief that they could both be gone. I spent the rest of the morning trying to contact my loved ones to be sure that they were all OK; all the time clutching the TV remote to be sure I would not miss a thing. It was impossible to get an open phone line so I used my cell phone to contact everyone. After I reached everyone I needed to, I lay in bed and watched hours upon hours of news coverage. I eventually got up enough nerve to go back on the roof and see where the buildings once were. In their place was a large plume of smoke traveling towards me. By nightfall, when my loved ones returned home safely I was so completely emotionally exhausted that I passed out. As soon as I awoke, I resumed watching the news coverage to be sure nothing else had occurred. For days after, I watched the news day and night. It was the first thing I turned on in the morning and the last thing I saw before I went to sleep. I would sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and turn the TV on to be sure nothing else had happened. I was truly the most horrifying experience of my life that will never be forgotten. No one who was alive on that day will ever be able to get past those images and the memory of the fear. I hope that this archive will help later generations completely understand what it was like to experience this first hand and to truly be changed forever. A teacher from another classroom came rushing in telling all of us that one of the World Trade Center towers had been hit by a plane. I was in complete shock and disbelief. I never thought that anything like that could ever have happened to us. I can remember that my first period teacher was late getting to school because her brother worked in one of the towers, and she was despirately trying to get ahold of him. The day just seemed to go by in a haze. The halls and lunch room were amazingly quiet as we passed from class to class. In every classroom we had the tv on watching CNN or some other news chanel. At first, I didn't want to believe that what i was seeing was actually happening. It frightened me so much, what was happening. I thought that maybe something might have happened in Dallas, and when it didn't I was extremely thankful to God. This attack just did the opposite of what these terrorists wanted it to do. I take I-181 into Johnson City, TN. as I live in Gray, TN. I know that this will sound a bit "made up", but it is absolutely true. On the drive into Johnson City, the morning sun was just beginning to burn off the morning fog cover nicely. There is a section of I-181 that spans through farmland and it is not flat. The road follows the contour of the hilly farmland. I came up on a section of the road that had a very erie rolling fog across it, even though I could see bright sunny skies above it. I remember thinking to myself that this seems very odd. It was like I was driving into a cloud that should not be there. I drove through it and came to the other side of it a few seconds later. I remeber also thinking to myself that I hope that it was not a sign of a bad day coming up. Well I guess you could say that it was a bad day!!! I went on into the building when I got to work and went into my office and followed the same routine that I do every morning. I work for Alliance Data Systems, and we are in the credit card processing business. We have a state of the art Help Desk in the facility that has 3 large screen T.V's. One with a sattelite feed for the major networks to receive news such as CNN, etc. Shortly after 09:00 A.M., my manager knocked on my door, as I was in a meeting, and asked if I had heard that a plane had hit the World Trade Center? Of course, I was still unaware of anything at this point. The first thing that comes to mind when hearing news of this sort is first "It cannot be true can it?" and second, if it is, it has to be a small private plane that has gotten caught up in some terrible accident, right? I remember thinking also, "I am sure I will hear about this tonight" so I continued with the meeting I was in. Roughly 15-20 minutes later, one of my friends at work stopped by my office and told me that a second plane had hit the World Trade Center, and at that point I knew that something major was happening. I went down to the Help Desk and joined a group of about 6 other managers. We stood there, as if frozen in time, and watched the CNN feed to large screen T.V. It was like watching a Bruce Willis movie, but with the thought in my mind of "These are real people dying." I went back into my office about 10 minutes later and the phone rang. It was my wife, and she told me that 2 passenger planes had hit the World Trade Center, another had hit The Pentagon, and a 4th was still in the air. This is the one that later crashed in Pennsylvania. I will never forget her telling me "That all hell is breaking loose." Shortly after hanging up the phone with my wife, another friend told me that one of the towers had collapsed. My thought was, "How in the world can this happen in America?" I don't think I was aware of time at this point, everything seemed to run together. I picked my son up from school, and on the way to get him, I remember that there was no music on any radio station, only horrific news. We got home, went to pick up my daughter from daycare and waited for my wife to finish at her job. We watched T.V. until 02:00 A.M. the next morning and waited for next workday. Thinking back to drive to work only 18 hours earlier, I remeber think, "Hell yes, it was a bad day!!" I saw that the first building was on fire and as I was asking her what happened, I saw the second plane hit the second building. In June of 2001 my husband Martin and I bought a time-share apartment in midtown Manhattan because we no longer wished to make the drive back to Philadelphia on late evenings after a long day in New York, and by 9/11 we had spent many happy days in New York museums, theaters and restaurants, and had met some friends and relatives there. After 9/11, I mentioned to my husband that I already felt like a citizen of Manhattan and I felt an obligation to go there to pay my respects to those who had died and those who were working at ground zero. Since we were leaving for Europe shortly we went the following week, and immediately went downtown. My first shock was the realization that we could no longer take the subway all the way down and that we had to walk pretty far, and many emergency vehicles of various kinds kept passing us headed toward ground zero. As we walked, the air got "thicker" and I had to put my scarf over my nose and mouth to keep out the "dust." But as we got closer, I really saw the heartbreak and sorrow expressed on all the hand-made signs everywhere...a photo of a smiling young woman with long dark hair holding a toddler and wearing a pretty summer dress, labelled, "have you seen my wife? Please call ! ...another, a professional portrait of a middle-aged fellow dressed in a business suit..."have you seen my Dad?",..dozens and dozens, maybe hundreds of them posted close together, side by side and one above the other, as we came nearer to the site. Some people were handing out fliers advertising for their lost families, some just stood there holding their pictures face out for us to see. And as we got closer we saw one after another, stores with everything inside coated in a thick layer of a grey substance so you had to strain to identify the things underneath, dead places, like Pompei. And in the open doorways of many Of the stores sat silent melancholy looking people, perhaps the owners waiting for insurance companies to come help. It seemed to me that the most pitiful store of all was what had obviously once been an elegant beauty salon all coated in this thick gray stuff, hair-driers, perfume bottles, chairs, tables, vials and cans and tubes of cosmetics and lotions, and even the floor. How strange. When we finally arrived at the "end," as close as we could go, there stood a crowd of people, all ages, all colors, all classes, all styles, and all seemingly struck dumb, standing there absolutely silent, staring at whatever we could see of the workers and the work (they were dismantling a huge piece of the steel of one of the two towers) and the tiny church almost next door (said to be the oldest church in New York, St. Paul's, I think. When I could no longer stand, Martin and I walked silently away and the crowd parted silently to let us through. A few blocks away a young Frenchman with a bicycle rigged rickshaw picked us up and took us to the nearest subway entrance. I was at my desk, working, when my office manager walked in, and told me a plane had struck into the One of the World Trade Center towers. I could not believe what I was hearing, and turned on my radio in my office. I called my mom, she was at work, and she had heard too, and was crying, then I heard the radio, and a man was screaming that another plane had hit the other tower. I was totally befuddled. I was listening to a local DJ by the name of Bubba the Love sponge. He had a TV in the studio as he broadcast and he was in the middle of a sentence when he and his co-workers started gasping and saying "Oh my god, I can't believe it". He then announced that an airplane had been crashed into one of the world trade towers. Before the second plane had crashed, Bubba had tracked down the telephone number to the world trade center and called to tell them a "little bit of smoke is coming out of your roof top". Almost immediatly after he said that, the second plane hit. It didn't seem real to me and I thought it was a joke. When I arrived at the library, I went on the internet and tried to find out if CNN or Fox had posted anything. Someone ran into the room and yelled "The pentagon has been hit by a bomb". A TV was carried up the stairs and we watched the news as the trajedy carried on. When I left the library, some of the classes were being let out and I remember hearing the shock and disbelief in the voices around me. One girl claimed that she heard that the perpetuators were going to hit somewhere in America every seven minutes until America had been destroyed... But America is much more than a country and can never be truly wiped out. I have read several websites claiming that September 11th was "not that big of a deal". To me, it was a big deal. It was the first attack on american soil. We lost more than 3,000 of our friends, coworkers and members of our family. Firemen and Policemen willingly gave their lives in order to ensure that just one more person was able to get out alive. My favorite saying post-9/11 was the coca-cola billboard that said "We live as many. We stand as one". America united on that day. We didn't care about race, religion, or petty things. We only cared that we were American and we were proud of it. We gave our money. We gave our time. We gave our prayers and we shed our tears. God Bless America. Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was in English, Mrs. Vance's class, at WAshington IRving Middle School. School just started so we were doing intros and such. I just moved here from KOrea so I got scared because I was just on a plane. The news came over the announcements but I didn't know what the World Trade Centers were. When I heard about the Pentagon I was very scared because my dad works there. However, he was in a bomb shelter in the White House because he was having a meeting there at the time. When I found out the twin towers were in NYC I got scared again because my cousins live there. I didn't talk to my parents until I got home and we all sat in the living room and watched TV. I remember at the middle school everybody was really scared and running around. That next class I had to take a bus uo to WEst SPringfield High School to take Spanish 4 but I didn't because they wanted me to stay at the middle school. I sat in the office and watched a flood of parents come in and demand that their children be let out. Many students left the school with their familes. A lot of students I saw walking through the halls were crying. A TV in every room except classrooms where there was a class was on and teachers were watching it intently. It was scary and I really didn't know what was going on. This event reminded me of PEarl Harbor.That next year I had to get on a plane to go to Texas and I got scared thinking another terrorist would just take over the plane and make us crash somewhere. I believe that although this event was a horrible atrocity, it made America stronger and more united. I hope that something like this will never happen again. This event also made me aware and the hatred for Americans from certain groups of people in the Middle EAst.
