Tell us your story: On that particular day, I had gotten up earlier than usual to do some last-minute studying for an exam I had later that afternoon. I'm a student at the University of Missouri Saint Louis (UMSL). I had stepped out to get some breakfast, and when I returned home at about 6:45am (7:45am in New York), my neighbor met me on the porch with a 7-month-old kitten in her arms. The cat had been found stray a couple weeks earlier outside the Fox Theater downtown, and she apparently wasn't getting along with my neighbor's other cat. So my neighbor, Mary, asked me if I would like to have the kitten. I asked what her name was, and Mary said she hadn't named her yet and that I could pick a name. Well, I didn't have a name in mind, but I took her in the house anyway. About an hour later, I was taking a break from studying and was chatting online with a friend from Spain. She didn't speak a lot of English, so her posts to me were laced occasionally with Spanish. She said, "Gary, Gary, big trouble in New York." I said, "What do you mean?" And she replied, "Guerra." I knew that this was the Spanish word for war, but I didn't know exactly what she was talking about. I thought maybe some gang war or something had made web news and that's what she was talking about. So I said, "Oh, don't worry, it's fairly common in big cities like that." She said, "Not like this. This is bad. This is evil." So I moved away from my computer, turned on CNN just a couple minutes before the second plane hit 2WTC. I just thought suddenly, "How many people have just lost their lives in front of my eyes?" And I just dropped onto my sofa and cried. I didn't care that guys aren't supposed to cry. There was no other reaction possible. The kitten jumped up on my lap and curled up, purring, right then. I petted her for a bit, still staring absently at the TV screen. I just whispered, "New York." And the cat jerked her head up to look straight at me. I looked into her small face with huge shiny green eyes, and I said, "New York. That's your name." I named her in honor of all those who died and all those who risked their lives on that day. At the time, I hadn't yet heard about the Pentagon or Pennsylvania, but she seemed to respond instantly to "New York," like it was the right name to give her. So it stayed. I spoke a couple days later to my friend in Spain, and she told me that when I didn't come back to our conversation, she knew I was glued to the TV. She waited for me for 10 minutes, then went back to her own TV. She said she just gave in and cried for the next several hours. Our pain was felt and shared half a world away. She is a member of an organization at her university in Barcelona, and they gathered together that night for a candlelight vigil and said prayers for the dead in NY, DC, and PA. After all, those terrorists didn't target the "American Trade Center," they targeted the "WORLD Trade Center." It was an attack not against America, but against the world. And the world felt it. And as one of the earlier letters states, from Switzerland, "We were ALL Americans that day." Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: It started as just an average Tuesday morning at work. I was helping with the switchboard when my boyfriend called up to tell me a plane crashed into the World Trade Center. My first reaction was that it was an accident. It was only a little plane. It just had to be an accident. He was unsure of what kind of plane it was until the second plane hit. After the second plane hit, the news came over the radios. No one could believe it. The whole office gathered together to listen to radio news broadcast. My heart actually felt like it had stopped. The whole time I was at work I had no emotion except shock. We were let out at noon. I went home as fast as I could and was glued to the television. It all happened so fast that I really could not take it in. I made sure I got to the store in time for first press. I wanted to be sure I got enough information to help it all make sense. This is history and I wanted every piece of it to help me down the line when I have children. By the time I have children, this will be just another part in there history books. I want it to be more than that. I must of called everyone I knew to just know where they were. People were stopping by with so many emotions running. Revenge was the main emotion. I still had no real feeling towards it all. The next morning I woke up and can honestly say I forgot. It did not take me long to remember. On my way into work everything was different. For the first time in a long time, even before the attacks, there was a sort of peacefulness to everyone and everything around. I was amazed at how many flags were displayed in such a short period of time and how much kindness was in the air. People were actually being nicer. I know now that I was only in shock. My heart goes out to all of the families who lost someone dear to them. I may not of known anyone, but I can honestly say on September 12th I felt as if I we are all connected in a way. I believe that we will go on. We will always remember but it will not hold us back! We will United Forever and Always as One Nation. Tell us your story: I was sitting at my desk working when my best friend came in to tell me that a plane had just flown into the World Trade Center. I couldn't believe it! I was in shock! I went upstairs to wath the TV that someone had hooked up in the concrete dispatch office. I just couldn't belive the horrible pictures I was seeing of the World Trade Center collapsing!! How awful!!! I couldn't help but think about all the people being killed or injured!! Not to mention how their friends and families were feeling. I remember crying all the way home and seeing the jet planes trails in a circle going back to KCI. It was the most terrifying day of my life! I never want to see anything like it again, but I fear it is not over. Look at what is happening in London now. We must remember our true heroes! I overheard two other teacher's talking and one of them was crying. I asked her what was wrong. She said the World Trade Center in New York had been hit by some planes; and, two other planes had crashed. I can remember feeling like I had been punched in the stomach. I went to the office and called my husband, (Mickey) and asked him if he had heard the news. He said he was watching it on the news. For the rest of the day, I talked with my students what was happening. Every time there was a new development, someone would pass the news on to all the teachers; and we would continue to discuss the news. Even almost three years after so many of our family and friends lost their lives to cowards, images of that day are horribly clear. That morning started out like every other day. I had just returned home shortly after 8:30 a.m. from taking my son to school and had sat down to watch The Today Show. I can still feel the weight in my chest, the tears running down my face and my prayers for the lives I knew were forever lost. By the time the entire world witnessed the second plane hitting I knew our world and our lives would never again be innocent. When the Pentagon was also attacked, my immediate thoughts were of my son and his safety. As implausible as it was that South Carolina may be attacked, I could not help but fear that possibility. After all, did anyone ever think that our Pentagon would be blatanly targeted? For the next week I remained in front of the television, praying for miracles to be found in the rubble. Crying at the heart wrenching images of innocent men and women jumping to their deaths to try and escape the fire. I lost my father in February of 1999 and every day since his death I wished that he were still with us, except on September 11, 2001. That day I remember thanking God that my father were no longer alive to see what was happening. After years in the Army's Special Forces, my father worked for 21 years as a Firefighter. The sight of so many Firefighters, EMS and Police Officers, as well as the thousands of innocent people would have destroyed him. No one should have ever had to witness death like that. I continue to feel deep pain for the families and victims of that day and I pray for their salvation and happiness. My God continue to bless us all and keep us safe from the world's cowards. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I work for Simmons Co. Makers of the Beautyrest Mattress. I was at work on Sept 11. It was a georgous day that day. Blue skies and really nice. I was working and one of our maintenance men came back and said a plane had flown into the World Trade Center. I thought that was bad but remembered the plane that hit the Empire State building in the 40's. I thought the lose of life was bad but it could have been worse. I know the airspace in that area can get quiet congested and thought it was a simple accident. A bit later he came back and said it was a twin engine plane. Again a tragedy. Then someone else said it was an airliner. That got me to go to the break room and I saw it. Horrific scene. In a little bit someone else came back and said a second plane had hit the other building. We turned on a radio and caught little bits of the news as we still had to work. As the morning continued we heard of the crash in Pa and the plane hitting the Pentagon. We were under attack. I cannot really describe the feelings I had. It was patriotic, anger and a sense of witnessing history. I am 40 yrs old and dont remember JFK's death but remember hearing people say they remember where they were and what they were doing when it happened. I thought of that right away. I made a mental note to look around and take in as much of the day as I could. I know we were scheduled to work 12 hours that day and we worked the entire 12. I remember when I got off work and was going home I noticed very long lines at the gas pumps. I thought "what is going on?" Then I heard on the radio that gas prices were expected to skyrocket. I figured that if the prices were going up then I better fill up. I bought 2 locking gas caps for my cars and filled them up. The prices were normal at that time. It was around 7:30 in the evening. Downtown Columbus, Ohio was shut down. There was a sense of disbelief in the air. People were talking with each other like never before. People seemed to want to know each other. There was a calm in the air. It was eerie. I cannot fully describe it but I was so totally aware of everything. I was saddened by the deaths of so many people and felt so much pride in the actions of the NYPD, FDNY and all the other agencies that responded. It was a beautiful day in Columbus, Ohio... Tell us your story: I got to work early that morning and I was on the phone with a friend discussing how we were going to get to the Yankees game with our 2 sons the next evening. She lives on 34th St. and 2nd Avenue and has a clear view south. As we were talking, she said, "You are not going to believe it, but I just saw a plane fly into the WTC." I thought, "That's wierd, must be an accident." We kept on talking. Ten minute later, she called back to say, "Another plane just flew into the WTC. I called you because I didn't know what else to do." I knew it was terrorism. I tried calling my son's school and couldn't get through and then tried my husband's office and couldn't get through. Just then, my assistant walked in and her face was ashen. I said, "Did you hear what happened?" and she replied, "I saw it from the subway coming in from Brooklyn." I told her, "If you can't get home, come to my house." And I flew out the door. I raced toward my son's school. I will never forget standing on the corner of 34th St and Park Avenue South, looking south at the mushroom-like cloud in the distance. At that point, groups of people had gathered on every corner, but many people did not know what had happened--they thought it was a fire or something. I was one of the first parents to reach my son's school. There I learned the Pentagon had been attacked. I wanted to take some of my son's friends home but the school wouldn't let me (afterward, they changed their policy...). My son and I walked home in a daze. By the time we reached home the towers had already fallen. We spent the morning staring at the awful events of the day on TV. Then, I went into my bedroom which faces south and saw that the towers were gone. I truly felt that our lives might end that day but at least I was at home with my son. After living in NYC for over 20 years, I finally understood what it meant to live on an island... My husband had stayed at work to help victims. His office is right below Canal Street and peopled streamed uptown looking for phones, bathrooms, bandages. Later, when we left the house I noticed a man who looked homeless. His clothes were in tatters and he was covered with ash. It took me a few minutes to realize he had been at ground zero. Then we saw 100's and 100's of people streaming up First Avenue on foot. I'll never forget how over 3000 people perished from my city on such a brilliantly gorgeous fall day in September. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: During the summer of 2001, my husband, Kimball, and I were preparing for our permanent move to Anchorage, Alaska. He had gone up there in June to start work and save up enough for us to have a place to live, while I stayed in Payson, Utah with my parents. Our daughter Hazel was almost 15 months old when he left, and I was four months pregnant with our second child (a boy, Nathan). Kimball came back to Utah at the end of August so he could drive our car up the Alaska/Canada highway with his Mother. They left September 5th. It was a long, exhausting journey, and the whole trip was filled with an underlying feeling of urgency to get to Alaska. On the night of September 10th, instead of staying in a hotel, they were prompted to finish driving their last leg of the journey all the way through the state line that divides Canada from Alaska, and they made it to Anchorage during the early morning hours. Falling asleep never felt so good for them as it did that night, but it was short-lived. They were awakened early in the morning on September 11th to hear the devastating news about the attacks. Aside from the extreme sorrow we all felt about what was happening, we were also very grateful for the promptings they had to keep pushing forward until they were past the state line. If they had not listened and waited not even a day more to go through, they would've been stranded in Canada for at least two weeks before the state line would be re-opened. As for me, I was awakened the morning of 9/11 by the phone ringing. I ran to answer it, and it was my Mother calling from work. She told me to turn on the television, so I, still not knowing what was going on, turned on the T.V. just in time to see the second airplane smash heartlessly into the WTC. I wanted to cry, throw up and scream all at once. The words I use cannot even begin to describe the depth of the feelings I felt as I watched this horrifying sight. Disbelief: How could a human being do something like this to other human beings? Horror: This is real! Those airplanes actually smashed into the World Trade Center towers. Sick inside: I saw people jumping out the windows in a desperate panic to escape, only to plummet to their deaths below. I cry to even think of how frightening those last few moments must have been. Fear: Yesterday I lived in a world where I felt safe. Today I quickly realize how fragile life really is, and that terrible things can happen to anyone, anywhere. On September 17, 2001 I took my first flight in an airplane to go to my new home in Alaska. Leaving my family and everything I knew behind, seven months pregnant, carrying an 18-month old child, all alone past the security point, and going to a place where I had never been, to start a new life from scratch, on top of going in an airplane for my first flight, and after the attacks, you can easily guess I was pretty nervous and saddened. I had to choke back the tears as I watched my family disappear behind the security gates, not knowing when I would ever see them again. It was a very difficult and heavy time in my life and in the nation. Now a year later, I can look back on that period of my life and know that I am stronger. We made it through the storm. We have experienced a renewed sense of faith in God, and have stood in a united front. We have our freedom implanted in our hearts, and nobody, no airplane, nothing can take that away from us. Tell us your story: I remember so vididly, coming home from dinner at a friends house and quickly looking at the late night news (About midnight in Australia). My wife and I cried and feared what this all meant. We were so sad we could see people dieing on TV, and yet our first thought was to pray and be consolded by the King of kings and Lord of Lords. We were in fear for fellow Christians and yet we knew that God has and continues to have a plan. 5 years on, our plan is to keep remembering and praying for our Christian brothers and sisters.. and those yet to know the full glory of God. After homeroom ended we had 1st period as normal, I don't remember exactly which period it was but we had the firedrill sound and went outside, then we got word that a little fire had started by our generator we were allowed back in but told to go to our homerooms. I went to my homeroom and my teacher Mr.Polvino was there, we all sat down and he told as that two hijacked planes had crashed into the WTC, I was shocked but to my shame my composure regained quickly, I think my teacher just needed someone to talk to when he asked us who we thought did it, it was not as if a bunch of 6th graders would know. People started giving off names of the few types of organizations they knew. Everyone was talking about it all day, as we left the classroom and headed to our next period after a while we got word that a plane had crashed into the Pentagon. The Teachers were scared you could tell by how they acted, as I came back after lunch to English class also taught by Mr. Polvino we were told we were safe here and there was nothing to worry about, then two older girls probably from the highschool and asked to pick their little sister up, my teacher asked if anything else had happened they told him "The Towers have collapsed". I went home that day and my mom took us over my friends house who had friends in NYC and worked in the WTC we did not know what happened. We turned on the News and watched towers falling down and flames coming from the Pentagon. By the next day I knew we had entered a new world, a new era in history had come about in a single day. When the challenger exploded, my father told me to sit down and watch the news..."history was happening beore my eyes." That morning i was awakened my my father in law telling my husband and I that teh World Trade center had been bombed. As i walked grogly into the room expecting to see nothing more than a small fire I couldnt believe what was happening. I watched in horror as the second plane found its final resting place in wtc 2. I was shocked and truely afraid for the first time. I immediately found myself hugging my children and telling them the words my father once told me. I looked at my 4 month old and wondered if he would ever know about what was happening that day. As the first tower fell and the news of the pentagon came about, I knew I was in no signifacant harm, but then my family came into mind, They lived in Kansas City. I called and they were as mortified as I was. Several hpours later I had to drive into Mena, a very small town about 30 min away. I was shocked to see cars in gas stations that wound around for blocks. I thought to myself, we are not a target, terrorists dont even know we exsist here......But still I inew nothing would be the same. And it wasnt. And I pray that it never will be. I left my apartment for the Alyeska Pipeline Marine Terminal at 5:30 in the morning and heard the breaking news on the car radio that the Twin Towers had been hit by an airplane. I felt shock, but don't recall having a concern for my safety. I arrived at the Operations Control Center (OCC) and called the Duty Officer at home to start the chain of notifications to upper management in the company. The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was manned, and they had CNN on, so we were being given updates. We were told it was considered a terrorist attack. Later that morning, the Coast Guard called the OCC and directed us to notify the 3 vessels alongside the berths to depart immediately for sea. Suddenly, the threat seemed closer to home. The decision was made to continue to operate the Pipeline. The incident commander came to OCC from the EOC. He said that a KAL commercial flight had been reported possibly hijacked, and it was not responding to radio calls and inbound to Alaska. He said not to worry, the military would shoot it down before it got to Valdez. Strangely, I still didn't feel worried. I felt horror at the possibility of more civilian lives being lost, but I truly did believe that we would be protected in our fjord. Management notified the Terminal that all non-essential personal should depart the terminal. The OCC is essential and 4 of us stayed. Suddenly, there was the sound of a large helicopter directly over our building. We are used to company helicopter surveillance flying in front of us, over the berths. But this was different - low and loud and way to close to the roof. I called Security and asked if they could identify the helicopter. They said no - and suddenly, I did feel fear. We're taught to respond to earthquakes in AK - get in a doorway, under a desk, away from glass. But there was no desk that was going to protect us. There was nothing we could do but wait. It seemed like forever. Security called back and said that it was a Coast Guard helicopter. It had come up and over the mountains behind the terminal, instead of up the inlet over the water as the usual flight path. I felt a sense of relief. But I can remember just getting up and my supervisor called me to turn on the television (I am a 911/police and fire dispatcher). It was as if I were watching an action movie. I could not believe it. As I arrived the Credit Manager asked me why I was in the office. I sarcastically responded by saying that "I came to work just like I do everyday". He then said that he was referring to the fact that I was supposed to be at my company's disaster recovery test in Jersey City. I suddenly realized that I had goofed. So I said I would grab a quick cup of coffee and head to the Trade Center to catch the Path train over to Jersey City. It was still before nine so I would only be late about a half hour. So I went to our kitchen to get a cup of coffee. The company's Controller then walked into the kitchen and asked me if I had heard the news. "An airplane had just crashed into the Trade Center". I immediately thought of the fact that I was supposed to be at the trade center around that time to meet the other members of the disaster recovery test. We had a TV in the office which we turned on to see the news. Shortly after turning on the TV a second plane could be seen approaching the second tower. All of us froze as we stared at what couldn't possibly be, then suddenly the impact. I suddenly realized how lucky I was to have had forgotten my appointment. The other members of the group luckily left without me to the recovery site just before the first plane hit. However, we did have four employees who lost five family members a husband. a brother in law, an uncle, a nephew and a son-in-law. This was quite a shock for us all especially since we were only a staff of 33 people. It didn't seem possible that being such a small company that we could be affected so greatly. A year later I still get very emotional about the senseless loss of innocent lives and I can't understand how these Al Qaeda individuals can think that by killing all these people it would help their cause. Tell us your story: If, as we were told it would, the plane that went down in Pennsylvania had hit the White House, I would have spent the past five years fighting off nightmares. Either my colleagues and I would have been among the casualties, or we would have witnessed something akin to armageddon. Thanks to a few decisive and selfless people on flight 93, all I saw was a late (it didn't happen until noon) White House evacuation. To this day, when I see footage of the second airplane hitting the tower, I shake my head in disbelief. I still can't wrap my brain around the event. I now work in a building with a view of the side of the Pentagon that was hit. I also can see National airport. We left A.C. at 7:00 AM because we had an 8 1/2 to 9 hour drive ahead of us. We were on the PA turnpike & driving through the mountains so we didn't have the radio on, we were listening to cd's. We stopped at a rest stop to get something to eat & every person in the parking lot was on their cell phone. It looked strange, but I went on in to get the food while me husband waited in the car. While I was in line I heard two women talking. One of them said, "I can't believe two days ago we were looking at the Twin Towers & now they're gone." I got back in the car & told my husband something was going on & to turn on the radio. We listened to the radio the rest of the way home, we couldn't believe what we were hearing. We were so far from our kids and just so desperate to be with them. We passed within 30 miles of the Pennsylvania crash sight. We didn't see the sight, but we passed approximately 25 police & government cars on their way to the sight on the other side of the turnpike. It was just so unreal. I cried most of the way home. Tell us your story: when i was younger i lived in New jersey and visited manhattan island often. though it's been years since, i still feel that i left a piece of who i was in that city the day i left. on september 11th it was like a piece of me was being torn down and as i watched in horror as the event unfolded on my beautiful city i started to think of all the people i knew who were gone from me forever. the images of the towers falling are ingrained into my memory and they are something i will never let go of. no matter how many times someone tells me to move on, or that i should be thankful that i don't live in the states right now and that i have so much hin Canada, it doesn't matter to me: i am a New Yorker at heart. the first few days i walked around in a blur, thinking of nothing else but the events. at my school no one seemed to be affected like that... i guess i couldn't blame them, they didn't have the connections i did. i rememeber finding out and hearing the other people talk of war. all i could think of was that my father was in that wreckage and i was never going to see him again. later on i found out his flight had been cancelled and that he was going down to new york later that week. all the employees of my father's company had survived, but i remember those first days after when we waited to see who had been lost to us. i remember coming home on 9/11 and seeing my fatehr with tears in his eyes, i have never seen him cry before and as he tried so hard not to, i found myself comforted by his strength. that day he told me two things. the first was " katrina, i want you to remember what you did today because someday someone will ask you where you were on September 11th" i didn't know it then but those words turned out to be truer that i had believed. the second thing he said was "people i know are dead today. i'm not sure who they are yet, but people i know are dead." sadly the second statement proved true in the following days ahead. after all the funerals, i lived my life according to what was, and not to what is. and that's how it was until i began to see my beautiful city of New York raise from it's own ashes. i began to see that the terrorists hadn't killed what made New York such a beautiful place, and even through the worst of times and the strongest attacks, New York was stronger and that i was stronger than to live my life through my own shadows. so God Blessed America. and remember, you do not live in America, America lives in you. I had gotten off the treadmill about twenty minutes before ? the treadmills look out of the big glass front of the second floor of the gym, east, into the bright blue morning sky. Not much to watch while running there, beyond the cars going downtown, or people walking to work, or the planes taking off from Logan. You watch those planes climbing into the sky from just north of the gym, sometimes arcing to move out over the Atlantic, sometimes just continuing south. I don?t remember specifically watching the planes that morning, you take the sight so much for granted while running, and besides, I was too busy going over work in my head. It was the first day of the fall semester at the university where I was to teach, so I was reciting my first-class speech to myself in my head. I was on my second set of flat bench presses when the guy who keeps the desk in the weight room came in. He was laughing, but not in a funny way. Shaking his head, unbelieving, the laugh a hollow sound, filling a void behind it. He said to one of the trainers, ?A plane just hit the World Trade Center in New York.? The trainer asked, ?What, a biplane?? but for some reason, I just knew it was bigger. It wasn?t a thought, just a feeling so horrified and urgent that I automatically dropped the bar back into place and raced downstairs. The weight room is on the second floor of the gym; going down the stairs, I think I jumped over all the steps, landing to landing, down to the lobby. In front of the locker rooms in the lobby is a big screen tv, and it was filled with the two towers, like smoke stacks. There were only three people on the couches; people were still getting towels, changing, going about their business. I sat down, my weight gloves still on, staring at the screen, shocked. They replayed the tape of the second plane hitting, over and over, cutting back to the burning towers. I can?t remember much of CNN?s live telecast, my memory is so full now of the reruns, the magazines, the photographs, the documentaries, all I?ve seen and heard since, the saturated sense of a week that was itself suspended from time. I do remember witnessing the collapse of the first tower very clearly. My mind could not process what had happened, literally could not believe what my eyes had just taken in, to the degree that the data was not processed. There was a huge amount of smoke, the announcer said something about there being a sudden lot of smoke and we can?t see the tower, and I just waited for the reporter to tell me what that big plume of smoke and dust and no building meant. My mind took a very long time to catch up to the scene on the television, only when I heard the words did I begin to understand. The other thing I remember clearly was the moment the type news scrolling at the bottom of the screen beneath the images from New York began to spell out that ?A fire is reported at the Pentagon?? and I turned my face to look at the guy sitting next to me and he turned a gray face toward mine, and between us there flashed without words: the Pentagon? Washington? They're attacking the whole country? What the hell is going on? Seeing my horror reflected in another, suddenly, all references, the day, normal life fell away. I got up off the couch; I went into the locker room, changed into street clothes and went to my brother?s office down the street. Everyone there was crowded in front of the tv also. My brother and I went into his private office. He was white with rage. ?They?re all saying the stupidest things, I can?t deal with it?? He meant the people in his office. Before moving to Boston the year before, my brother had lived in New York for years. He worked on Church Street, literally in the shadow of the towers. I asked him if he?d called our sister, whose husband worked in a building on Liberty Street that has since been torn down due to structural damage. But the phone lines were all jammed; he told me nothing was getting through anywhere. It?s odd how we try to resist reality when it is suddenly completely divorced from our understanding of what is supposed to be. I went to my school, trying to - what? punily resist the horror from actually touching my life, from taking on a tangible effect, outside of the television? But classes were suspended, the city was clearing out. Only then did I go home. The skies, always echoing the trace of air travel coming out of Logan, not ten miles away, eerily silent. Usually I took the train through downtown Boston and up the red line; today I walked a half mile up Mass. Ave. to catch the bus that would cross the Charles to the west of the city and directly into Cambridge. A man at the bus stop kept saying to me that now the politicians will have their excuse to bomb other countries, how awful that will be. I bit my lower lip, hurt myself, to keep from hurting him, to keep from screaming at him to keep his f*****g politics to himself, have some bloody sense, what's wrong with you!? The bus took a very long time to come. I got home, sat down in my living room to watch the tv. The shock was breaking. I started to cry. I don?t think I?ve really stopped. I was in Spanish class, studying my notes and waiting for the CHANNEL 1 NEWS broadcast to come on. My teacher turned on the channel that the feed usually comes on, but instead, CNN was on the TV. At first I thought that there was an explosion at a factory and there was smoke billowing from smokestacks. Then I saw the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor, and I realized that it was the World Trade Center towers. I was shocked when I saw the replay of the second plane crashing into the other tower. I was upset with CNN for replaying the crash as if it were a football play. My friends sat there with their mouths wide open in disbelief. All work was halted that day, and if there was work to be done, the students had trouble conscentrating on it.
