Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: Its funny how on days like September 11th we remember the silly things. I can remember what I did that morning before school, and what I ate for breakfast. I can remember what I was wearing and that I was in a fight with one of my friends. I remember going to first period just like any other day. Lucy and I spelled like grease because it we were cooking in foods class. We moved to second period just like any other day and I sat down in my seat. I looked outside the room and noticed that the teachers were running around like crazy in the hallways. I was confused but I just figured they were nuts. Then Mrs. Harlin ran into the room and told my teacher to turn on the tv. We watched as the first tower burned, we saw the flames and the huge amount of smoke coming from the building. My heart skipped a beat and I felt like someone had just punched me in the stomach. All I could think of to do was pray. When I opened my eyes I watched the second plane fly into the second tower. Anger and confusion came over me, I had no idea why anyone could think of doing something so terrible. I don't think I have ever watched the news so much in my life. All night and all the next day I watched, eagerly waiting for news. One year later I sat in school watching the towers fall and tears fell down my face. It is one year later and I am still as confused as I was when it happened. How is it possible to have so much hate in your heart to do something of this magnitude. In the end, after all of the lives that were lost and all of the pain and suffering that we endured I can't help but think about all of the lives that were saved and all of the people who are still living in this world. The months after September 11th were filled with many different emotions. Many people looked to the Lord for help, so I can't help but think that God had this planned so he could bring more people closer to him. Everywhere I looked I saw the American flag, it had new meaning now. God belss America was on every poster and every sign around town, the whole nation was united as one. I just wish that it wouldn't have had to take a tragic event like this to bring all of us together. I look back on the year and the only thing I am sure of is that I am going to live my life to the fullest and not ever take anything for granted, because you never know when it can all be taken away from you. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of all of the victims. May God bless them. Tell us your story: My 8 year old daughter was home sick from school, and I had settled down to work on folding the laundry while I watched the news. Sitting on the couch in the living room I stopped to take a sip of coffee when a breaking news story hit my local channel. The first aircraft had hit the tower. I watched in disbelief and wondered how? At first the newcasters were saying it was a small aircraft. As I sat watching, In total shock I watched the second aircraft hit!, My next door neighbor called me and asked me if I was watching. She was crying. At that moment, it came over the tv. both aircraft were large commercial jets that had just recently taken off. (being an avid fan of aviation, I knew that if they had just taken off, then they were full of jet fuel and that it was a very dangerous situation) chaos was on the airwaves. Radio and tv. Newscasters were experiencing difficulties in maintining their stoic attitude and showed the world that even they are human. I went outside and tried to calm my neighbors, they were very distraught and borderline histerical (they have come to rely on me for several things as I have a military background and I work with our local Neighborhood block watch) I was standing out on the lawn talking to one of my neighbors, when we saw a large jet fly overhead. being on a flight path for two local airports, it was unusual to see a jet the size of the one over us. We both remarked how low it was. We could see the windows and tail markings. From where I stood, I could see that someone was looking down through one of the windows, and that some other windows towards first class were mostly closed. Watching this aircraft fly approximately 1,500 feet over my neighborhood (with a local gradeschool only a block away) shook me up. I watched to see which way it would fly, thinking maybe it was heading to Akron-Fulton or Akron-Canton airport (since by now all flights were ordered to land) The aircraft made a path to a directional marker (used in aircraft navigation) and flew a path that would take it towards Pennsylvania. I told my neighbor that I would be right back and I went in to call Cleveland Hopkins Air Traffic control. My daughter came down and asked why such a big aircraft flew over the house (she is used to several different types of aircraft, but none so big or low over our house) Cleveland told me that I did not see anything. I sent my daughter back upstairs to bed and told her everything would be alright. Returning outside to my neighbor (with phone in hand) I told her not to worry and I would alert, one of the airports in our area. I called two more airports until I got a verification that I had indeed seen an aircraft fly at my location. About that time, my neighbor told me that a jet had crashed in Pennsylvania. she looked at me and asked if that could be the same aircraft. I tried to calm her but terror was in her eyes. I had no time to feel, or show any emotion. I had people relying on me and my abilities. I went back to my television and it mentioned that a flight was lost from radar around the Cleveland area. I continued to watch and monitor my phone. Periodically I would check on my neighbors to assure them that things were going well. I touched bases with the local police dept. and emergency services. My husband called from work and I gave him a briefing. Continuing to watch the news reports I eventually saw the piece where they plotted the route of the aircraft that crashed in Pennsylvania. It was the same aircraft! There were no others large aircraft in our area as I eventually found out from the ATC at Akron Canton airport. I called the FBI and the lady there told me I was nuts! She said that she has so many people calling and saying that they saw that aircraft, she was not going to start believing anyone including me. (this woman needs severe sensitivity training) I called our local flight school and spoke with the FBO operator and he also agreed that I had indeed witnessed flight 93. My neighbors and I still live with the vision of this aircraft over our apartments. I still see the face looking out of the window. and my mind still wonders "Was I the last friendly face that they saw?, Were they trying to let someone know that there was a problem? Was my flag at half mast the last patriotic effort by another human being (not on their aircraft) that they would witness? If I had known what the situation was, would there have been anything that I could have done? Should I have called the airports and forced the issue about the aircraft flying so low over a residential area?. The next day, I called my former Army recruiter in Montana and told him to get me back in the Army. He laughed so hard he fell off of his chair. He told me that I was too old now. So we discussed ways for me to help my Country. The following week my husband, daughter and myself, attended our first Civil Air Patrol meeting. (Civil Air Patrol is the Auxillary of the United States Air Force) We have been volunteering with youth and senior members from our community ever since. Proud in the knowledge that we are ready to help! Ready to assist in the defense of our Country! You don't have to carry a firearm to help the country! The willingness to do whatever you can where ever you are needed is enough. I will never forget 11 September 2001. It has changed my life and that of my family and friends forever. It has brought my Community, Country and the World closer. Unifying all people to work towards peace. Make your anger and pain work for you instead of against you. Participate in a memorial ceremony to mark the anniversary, then go out and find a way to volunteer and give a litte, to honor those who gave all! I told him that that was a cruel joke and not something to joke about. He said he heard it on the radio so, I immediately started trying to find it on the Internet. I found washingtonpost.com was the only site I could get onto and as I entered the site they showed the second plane hit. I turned to my manager a told her I don't want to be here I need to get my sister from school. After the Pentagon was hit the company let us hed for home; there were still planes in flight. Halfway home we had to pass Dulles Airport and the fuel tanks on Route 28 and we hear that they haven't got all the planes down yet there is still one headed for DC. From Reston to Chantilly it normally takes 15 min to get home; however it took almost an hour to maneuver out of Reston. My cell phone had service but it was taking forever to get through to family members that were still trying to get home. Three days later I was going to a friends house to vent my feelings and to just get out of the house because we has two TV?s on two different channels non stop news and I couldn't take it anymore; I turned on my cell as I always do when I leave my house and there are messages waiting. It is my mother on the east coast calling me to tell me that a plane just hit one of TWC towers. I thought no big dail. There is little damage. Big plains aren't allowed to fly that close. it's a small plane. No one got really hert. My mother yelled at me to turn the TV on. I couldn't beleive what I was seeing. I tought it was a seen from a movie. Averything was in slow motion. Nothing seemed real. I was still sleeping, Only a drem I kept saying to myself as the tearys started to rool down my face. My children came into my room at that point and as they were asking me what I was doing with the TV on in the morring when it was agenest the rulls on a school day-The second plane hit. Isaw it on TV. I saw what was bought to happen, and I couldn't move. I couldn't keep my children from seeing this mass destrotion of life. Then they went down I looked at my children grabed them and held them. I thought that this was the begaing of the end, It still may be. Then the questions started comming. I did my best to answer their questions, and hide my true fear. One year latter and today I drop my children off at school. And my son is a mess, and trys to play sick. I can see the fear in his eyes. He is trying to hold back the tears. My son was only 9 when this happened, now he is 10 and wored that he will die in war. My doughter looks at me and only says "Mommy it's Septerber 11" I tell her "I know. Now it's time to get into class. Have a great day." She was 8, and know is 9. It is a shame that a Child of yesterday has to become an adult of today. God, Bless us All. By the time I got to a television, the second plane had crashed into the other tower. I was stunned and I shook all over. I was dumb-founded with horror. I left work and picked up my grandson and took him home. When I checked him out of school, he asked what was wrong and I replied: something really bad has happened. He's 10, so I told him the truth, that a plane crashed into the WTC and it is believed that it was terrorist. I told him I just wanted to be with him. When I got him home with his mom and dad I drove home in disbelief. I cried every night for two straight weeks. I still do. It's just so hard and the pain for those lost and those who lost their loved ones is just too overwhelming. God Bless America and all those who have lost loved ones and may he protect our children! I remember vividly the emotions and the actions of the day. It all seemed like a normal autumn day during the first week of school. I awoke tired, wishing for more sleep. I got ready for school and got on the bus. School seemed business as usual, talking with friends before class, and when the bell rang, it was off to health. Health was one of those classes you just wanted to get through, no matter what it takes. I sat in my chair, waiting for the bell to ring. When that joyous tone sounded, I left the trailer, and went back inside the school for a morning break we have in the bell schedule at my school. The twenty-minute break period went along just as if it was any other day. However, in the next five minutes, I found this would not be an ordinary day. As I walked into my Latin class, the first thing I saw was that the TV had been turned on to CNN. That was the first glance I saw of the Towers. Only one had been hit; however I knew that something more was to come, and that the first was not an accident. I remember saying, ?This can?t be an accident. No one accidentally flies into the World Trade Towers.? This was about five minutes before class started. As my friends came walking into class, I could see the shock on their faces. We continued watching until we saw the second airplane hit. My Latin teacher, who had family working in the World Trade Center, was almost in tears. We continued watching the coverage until the Towers collapsed. After seeing the Towers collapse, we did not watch any more. We started to go on with the class, and I remember thinking, how can my teacher, who has family in the Trade Center, teach right now. I know it must have taken all she had, and I saw my teacher in a different light that day. Later in the period, we turned the TV back on for a brief minute, only to hear that the Pentagon had been hit. My Latin teacher?s husband works in the Pentagon, and his office was right in the blast area of the plane. Fortunately, he was in Arizona that day, on a business trip. My Latin teacher had more with which to contend. However, she still forged on with the lesson. Towards the end of the class period, our principal came over the loud speaker and told the whole school what had transpired in the worst couple hours of our country?s recent history. He said that if any students had parents working in the Pentagon, they could come down to the guidance office, and there, and attempt would be made to contact the parents. I have no relatives that work in the Pentagon, but I have and uncle in the State Department and a brother in another Government building. I knew that they would be ok, though, because of the evacuations made during the day. However, I was fearful for another uncle of mine, who works in New York City, just a couple blocks from the Trade Center. I would come to find out later on that he was at a meeting clear across town. Luckily, my family was spared a loss of life. However, in the days to come, I understood that although my family might have been spared loss of life, I was not without tragedy. I came to know that a friend of mine's father had been aboard the plane that struck the Pentagon. I was not the only one. Everyone was connected to each other and took part in carrying the burden. It seemed that everyone knew someone who knew someone that died that day. We were all connected by the very fact we were American. I think that out of the worst day of our country?s history, came the best couple months of our country?s history. There was no bickering; there was no feuding. The nation sounded the call to arms, and every citizen answered it, no matter what the call. The deck was stacked against America. Americans had to rise to the occasion, and we certainly did. Humid, taste of salt in my mouth, I'm crying again. Biting my lip. Clenching and unclenchingS Tension and the buildupS Tree got in my face, that's okay. Brush it to the side with a stray hand. I should be using this hand for something. Something more important than brushing an errant branch out of my face. You wouldn't have guessed it. Except for the blue flicker in every window. Shadows gouged out of faint pale blue phosphorescence--heads and shoulders. Men, women, childrenS Cut short by the yellow glare of sodium. So heavy and luminous overhead, despite barely being sifted through artfully pruned trees. My gait's dropping. My eyes unclench and take in the flickers. Lines of windows, all glued to the same screen. Glued to the news. There were four terrorist attacks the other day. Even if the news is a rehash. They watch it fervently. Repetitious explosions, Hands locked together two people leap to their deaths. They're not the only ones, It's better than burning alive I guess. The screens all flick in unison. Cable. CNN. Paula Zahn and Wolf Blitzer. Quite the duo. Artfully capped teeth, wrapped in radiation damaged lips... she should lay off the tanning bed, Quipping the latest. It's all about statistics. Numbers. Figures. Casualties. Anything but people. When you die. You're a number. Numbers...can't be people. That's what they all tell me at least I've lost friends arguing this event. That hardly seems significant. Children have lost mothers and fathers. Family's forever changed in an instant... stretched for what must feel like an eternity for them. Looped forever on TV. Real people are gone. They're not numbers. It's not time for statistics. It never will be, and it never should be. The scope of the issue is clear. Lives have been forever changed. A nation has been forever changed. The world has been scarred. A fist rises in anger. Then falls to rest. Nice sofa. There is a cry for retribution. People are angry, scarred, shocked, and amazed. Gasping in horror at the television screens as I walk--they drink red wine. I can only wonder if they realize what a precipice we stand upon. A flash of brilliant light and it could all be over. They wouldn't even have time to reach for Resolve as the wine splatters to their pristine white carpet. It could finish in an afternoon. It's sunny, colors washed out by the brightness. Kids are running through dusty foreign streets. Another brilliant flash of light. Dust. No streets. No children. Dust. I enter my apartment. I shut the door, dropping my bag to the floor. We were sitting in the waiting room of the third floor, talking and watching the T.V., when a news flash came on and we seen the tower on fire. At first we didn't know what had happened. Then, there it was! We seen the other plane coming! Oh, my God! It crashed into the other tower, then we knew it wasn't an accident. It was done on purpose. I was shocked, numb, my heart went out to all those people and at the same time, I was sadden very much. I thought it could have been the end of time and I would not have been with my family, but at the same time. Well, it was, very much the end of time for all those people and they were not with their famlies either. I cried. It was an awful thing to have happened and under mans'hands. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I had just woke up after flying back from Seattle, WA., the evening before. My father had died and I spent just over a week with my mother. I don't usually turn on the TV in the morning, but something compelled me to this day. I changed to the Network stations to hear that something had hit the World Trade Center. As I began to get caught up on the details, I saw the second plane look as if it were flying in the distance near the WTC. To my disbelief it crashed right into it. All I could think about was there would be some moms & Dads that wouldn't be going home that night. I had a bad feeling in my stomach and tears going down my face. I have always had respect for life, but this put even more light on it because I had an unborn child that was two months away. That could have been me or mine in one of the planes or working in the WTC. The other fact that will always have significance is that my wedding anniversary is on this day. Had I decided to leave the same day as this event, I would have unable to come home when the airports were shutdown. I would like the world to know that this type of hate has less to do with religion or culture (Islam) as it does people being educated on the facts. It also does not help to follow a person or ideal and not question that which seems not to fit ideals or make sense within our "common sense." I hope this ordeal has gone a long way to change the thoughts and actions of even our homegrown Milita groups. We have the capacity to forgive, but should never forget. My daughter called me from home and informed me that a plane had struck the World Trade Center. I did not think to much of this, because I thought maybe she was misunderstanding what had actually happened, I thought maybe a plane crashed in New York or something. As I was speaking to her, she screamed with much excitment, that another plane crashed in the second twin towers, at that time no one in my office (Dana Farber Cancer Institute) heard what had happened. At that moment I hung up the phone and ran right to the nearest television, with most of my co-workers in pursuit. We all looked at the TV, with pain and grief, knowing that there were probably people actually in the building, since this was a work day and very early in the morning. Patients, Staff, Physicians and etc., were all watching the TV, with horror and pain. We could not work all day, knowing that there was other plane crashes (Pentagon and Pennsylvania) also. Oh, how many lives were lost so quickly and unneccesary. I will never forget this day and I prayed this morning at exactly 8:46am and asked God to please watch over the souls of the innocent victims and their families and to please continue to give them comfort and strength for the remaining part of their years. This event has made me appreciate my family and loved ones. There is not a day that goes by that I don't let my Husband,Mother, Siblings and children, know how much I love them and adore them. The only great thing that came out of this tragedy is that Americans are a closer knit family and we will always be unified and proud to be an American. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I entered the lobby of the mid sized hotel I operated in Dallas, TX and entered a twilight zone it seemed. The first plane had hit and everyone was glued to the television in the breakfast area. No one was sitting down eating a relaxing breakfast; they were all standing, arms crossed, hands to faces, eyes showing disbelief. As I caught on to what was happening, you wondered, how could a plane make such a grave mistake, as we watched the smoke, and discussed the horror, the real horror hit, the second plane plunged into the second tower! Tears filled our eyes, we could not speak. We all starred, glued to the events that were, as we stood there, changing our lives. Soon, guests were finding out the airports were shutting down and finding out they were stranded. There seemed to be a panic inside us all. All they could think of was, ?How? do they get home to their families. Salesmen came in off the street that had been run out of downtown offices as Dallas was evacuating the Dallas World Trade Center and Governmental and Federal offices just a few miles away. Guests were desperately trying to find rental cars, bus tickets, any possible means to get home. The hotel staffs, van driver and I, were driving people to the car rental agencies, to the downtown bus station, or extending the guest stays that ended up just stuck. All the while, we stayed with the news reporters that were telling us the future had changed and the extent of the tragedies. The day seemed to pass in slow motion, so fast! The sky in Dallas was clear, not a plane in the sky when it used to be a game to see if you could count how many were in the air in their approach patterns, holding patterns, taking off, from two airports! But there were none. The days that followed, people were trying to figure out what to do, as if the next step had been taken away and we did not know where to put our feet. The hotel guest left one by one and the skeleton of a hotel was all that remained. Had plenty of time to catch up on paperwork, but how could we, we were stilled glued to the somber news reporters showing us ?Ground Zero, the Pentagon, and a beautiful country side covered in smoke and debris. We had fewer guests, and needed fewer employees. Some people in our nation, continued to work in their everyday affairs, months went by, and our guests were still not coming. And if they did, they drove, they were not flying. Travel funds in large companies, were gone! I wondered how many smaller companies, didn?t make it. The economy usually takes 3 months to affect the hotel industry whether it is going up or going down. It struck us as quickly as the planes hit our nation. I wonder, when it will come back like it was before. Even ?Before? has a different meaning now. One year later, it has not. I wonder how many died, that worked in the hotels, the restaurants and snack shops in the World Trade Center. Have they been forgotten? The people who provided ?Service? to those who worked in big fancy offices, the ones that brought their morning coffee or announced the daily special, or made their beds, with a smile? Dallas is also full of homeless, standing on street corners. I kept my eye on 2 in particular, that were truly, ?Homeless?. People were so busy giving to our brothers and sisters left to deal with their tragedies, the homeless received less and less. Their worlds were forever changed long ago. What plane flew into their lives then, that changed their worlds. I fed them when not many did. I gave them shelter when the ice came. I gave to the Fire Department because I knew from being the niece of a Fire Marshall; they knew how to make it good. And one year later, I left and went home 200 miles away, to a small east Texas town by the lake, to find myself???.. So now as I think about the last year, how could it not effect the smaller out of the way towns that are not apart of the busy Larger Cities, it?s were some of us went to find what was really important, that?s how! In New York, two large planes carrying passengers hit both the North and South World Trade Centers. In Washington D.C., another plane hit the Pentagon. Meanwhile, a fourth plane crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. This day changed the date September 11 from just another day on the calendar, to America?s most tragic day. This horrific day changed the lives of just about every American. Personally, I have been extremely lucky. More than half of my family lives in New York. A close friend of my family, Steve Gurshbacke, was a janitor in the World Trade Centers. That day he was supposed to be working, but for some reason he sent another person instead. My brother?s friend?s sister was supposed to be working as a flight attendant in one of the planes that crashed. But, for the first time since she had worked at the Airline, she was called off. Lastly, my aunt?s mother and stepfather lives and worked about a block away from the Twin Towers. They got out unharmed and watched as their home was crushed by the impact of two steel building bearing down on the house. My family and I have learned, as I?m sure many Americans have as well, to be more appreciative of my family and friends. I have learned not to take my freedom and county for granted and to enjoy the things I have. My actions and words have greatly changed. I am now much more aware of current events. I am in touch with my family in New York a lot more. My words have changed because I will never say ?I hate you? to my brothers. Instead I end every night by saying ?I love you? to my brothers as well as my parents. I try to pay attention if I hear the national anthem. Also, in the morning during the ?Pledge of Allegiance?, I listen to the words, and try to understand what they mean. I have become a more loving and caring person since 9/11. America has changed greatly since the terrorist attacks. We all have become more patriotic and loyal to our country. Around where I live, almost every house, including my own, had a flag on their house. The flag is now not only a pretty piece of fabric, but a symbol of our great nation. Yet, even with all the patriotism some people felt anger towards all Muslims, even though there was only a small fraction of them who were following bin Laden. Still, most of the changes America and Americans have gone through have been for the better. September 11 is an unforgettable day for all Americans. It is one of the most tragic days of many people?s lives. The impact has changed the way we think, live and learn. No one will forget the brave firefighters and innocent victims from the four plane crashes in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. The college is about ten miles away from Ft. Campbell ARMY base. It is not unusual to see and hear helicopters and airplanes flying over campus and on this day there was a very strange silence. I sat glued to the television watching all of the events unfold. I couldn't believe my eyes. I think I called everyone I knew to tell them how much I loved them. I wanted to go home and be with my family because I was scared. I was even more frightened because the ARMY base was so close, crazy things were running through my mind like would they attack here, after all Ft. We had been in school for about two hours when word got out to some students about the attacks to the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon. Finally around 10 a.m. the principal came on the intercom and confirmed the horrible attacks. At that moment, everyone?s heart started beating at a million beats per second and emotion filled the classrooms. No one knew what was to happen next. Everyone wanted to know the full story of the world going on outside of school, but the teachers would not let us watch the news. When school finally ended after what seemed to be an eternity, all students raced home on the middle school buses to be with there family and watch what was taking place around us. Devastation filled the streets around the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, as the news showed people running and crying in panic. It was awful seeing people struggle to move and to get medical aid. Rubble and smoke consumed much of New York City. Later on that night President Bush came on t.v. to give a speech. Even though I didn?t know much about what he was saying, it made me feel good that actions were already being taken against the people guilty of the most deadly terrorist attack. To this day, Americans have united together and are as strong as we ever have been to fight terrorism. September 11, 2003 has made me realize that you shouldn?t take things for granted in life because in an instant they could be taken away. He gave the briefest of details, then I zoomed to the office to let the staff know. "This couldn't be true -- I better see on the TV before I let anyone else know," I thought to myself. But it was horribly real. As the back of the library began to fill with faculty, jaws dropped and everyone was silent as the news replayed the scene over and over. Then at 8:30, I had to try to teach kindergarten students. As I looked at their innocent, happy faces filling the reading room, I didn't know how I was going to teach. I felt so fearful and upset. I just wanted to watch TV. They had no idea of the event and I had to just go on. A collective moan came from the back of the library when the second tower went down, yet the kids were unaware. Tears came to my eyes and I could not leave my kids. That entire day was the most difficult teaching day I've ever had. The television in the back of the library stayed on for at least a solid week; faculty ate lunch there to see news, lean on each other, ask "Why?", and cry. They would then gather their composure, go forward, and teach the kids, as the rest of America has done. We were listening to the radio when it was announced that an airplane had hit the Twin Towers. We thought at first that a plane had just had an accident. Then came the second announcement. She called him and told him that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center, so we turned on the TV in the office. There was a small group of us watching the TV, and for some reason I started thinking about what I had seen on the BBC America station a couple of nights before--that the leader of the Northern Alliance had been assassinated. Of course, I didn't really know anything about the Northern Alliance or the Taliban at the time, but I remembered the name of Osama Bin Laden from the news, and I told everybody in the room that I bet it was a terrorist attack, backed by Osama Bin Laden. Somebody said, "you don't know that," but it's like I just did. I remember calling my mom and telling her about the plane, and while I was talking to her the second plane hit the second tower. I said, "Oh, My God," and it was apparent that something was definitely wrong. My mom said something about feeling sorry for the people on the plane, too, and at the time, from looking at the TV, it looked like a prop plane, and I told her that I didn't think it was that kind of plane (jet). We were supposed to have a meeting that morning, and one of the participants came in and started talking like it was business as usual. We had turned the volume down and my back was to the TV, but 20 minutes or so later, my boss, who was facing the TV said, "a plane has hit the Pentagon. This meeting is over." We sat through the day and watched the TV in stunned disbelief and when the towers fell, it seemed like they fell in slow motion. It seemed like a scene from a movie, I guess it was the shock of it all. When we heard that a plane had crashed in Pennsylvania, I immediately thought that the passengers must have tried to take over the plane from the hijackers and then had lost control. This later turned out to be true. It was so strange that day. It's like I had a sixth sense about what was happening. I was just stunned that anyone could conceive of such a horrible act, and I remember wondering what might happen next. September 11, 2001, is THE day I will remember all my life.
