I'm a 16 year old high school student and I reside in Virginia. I was really touched by what happened. Their are so many people that I know that have been affected by the 9-1-1 tragedy. I use to live in Brooklyn, and I have family that live in the lower part of Manhattan that we have not been able to reach yet. I believe in God with all my heart & believe that he protected them as he's gonna do our nation. I hope that through this tragic lost that has affected every walk of life, people get on their knees and find God if they haven't already. It shouldn't take for the Devil to use terrorist to strike our nation for us to come together. I have not been raised a religious person, but I am still a person of faith. Whether or not this picture is an illusion of smoke and light, I take something very powerful away from it. Whether it is visually or metaphorically, we all saw the face of evil on September 11, 2001. I know you have received many e-mails, but I just wanted to commend you on your excellent photographic work. Like the rest of the world, I stood in horror as I saw those incredible twin towers burn. I appreciate the hard work of photographers like you who bring this news up close to us in Charlotte, North Carolina. The face in the smoke is indeed creepy. I just want to assure you that although I do not doubt that this whole plan was totally evil and demonic in it's origin, I know that God is in control. He is a wonderful, loving God that sent His son Jesus to die for our sins so we could have the assurance of Heaven when our time on earth is done.
