<dcterms:description><![CDATA[This is a rolodex which was recovered in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. While working of the lower setback roof of the Century 21 Building, in the middle of all the debris was this rolodex. Amazing that through all the destruction of that terrible day this artifact remained in untouched except for the grayish soot and ash caked to it. It is believed that it was blown clear on the initial impact from one of the airplanes hitting the World Trade Center. The roof was cleared by a Haz Mat team and there were workers bagging up all the debris on the roof, I asked could I have the rolodex. Unfortuntely, the cards in the rolodex give no hint of what office or company it came from.]]></dcterms:description>

<dcterms:description><![CDATA[In late September I photographed this memorial that had been set up in front of the firestation near Lincoln Center on West End Ave. and 66th St. in NYC. The firemen on duty explained that this four-foot tall statue had been shipped to them from a firehouse in California. They helped move the barricades so I could photograph it and then explained that they were from Westchester, filling in for the New York firemen who were attending funerals and memorials. What I did not discover until later, was that all of those who were on duty here on the 11th had died at the WTC and that the New York firemen they had been referring to were replacements themselves.]]></dcterms:description>
