I knew that display would be emphemeral. I happened to have my digital camera with me that day, so I took a picture. I walk by now and the flag isn&#039;t there anymore, but when I look at this picture I remember that November day and the slightly strange feeling that comes with it.]]></dcterms:description>

Of course most of the public was barricaded from going deeper into the site. I found that the outpouring of missing persons flyers and sentiments of support and mourning had as much if not more of an emotional gravity than the actual devastation. <br />
When I made this photograph I was struck by the vividness of the wilting flowers against concrete and steel as if a testament to hope, support and love no matter what the conditions.]]></dcterms:description>
