    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Thanksgiving weekend, 2001---a makeshift memorial to the victims of the World Trade Center disaster sprang up in Las Vegas at the New York, New York Casino.  There were t-shirts from police and fire organizations, labor unions, and ordinary civilians hanging on the fence along with notes and other memorabilia. One could not walk through this exhibit dry-eyed.  ]]></dcterms:description>

On September 13, the Seaplane pilot brought us the sad news as well as a local paper depicting the tragedy. As we each read of the horror, our mood turned from enjoyment of out &quot;getaway&quot; to anger and deep sorrow.  I took this photo of one of our party reading of the events as well as another who had just finished.]]></dcterms:description>
