Story:Some of the worst events in American history occurred on September 11th, 2001. The World Trade Center buildings were destroyed when high-jackers deliberately flew two air planes into them. Both towers were engulfed in flames and eventually collapsed due to the extensive damage. Then, high-jackers crashed into the Pentagon destroying much of it. Another plane crashed in Pennsylvania before reaching its destination. It is believed that the person behind these senseless acts of terrorism is Osama Bin Laden.
Life Changed:My day-to-day life has not been greatly affected, but my attitude has definitely changed. For one thing, I am more cautious than I was before. I also have a new appreciation for my family, friends, and life.
Should be remembered:Many tragic incidents happened, but everyone needs to remember how much it brought the United States together. We also should remember the rescuers and the people who died fighting to save others. Many people risked their lives for others and for the United States. My family and I went to Ground Zero and viewed the memorial site which was located at St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
Flag:No, I did not fly an American flag after the events of Septembar 11th, but my feelings about the flag have greatly changed. I appreciate the flag so much more and I am proud to be an American. I also believe the flag has become more valuable to me. It represents not only the country, but the spirit of the rescuers, people who lost their lives, and the people who went to fight the Taliban.
