Story:At work in a middle school in Brooklyn NY. Once I learned I could see the smoke from the back of our building. I tried to remember if my mother-in-law was still working in the trade center as she had been during the 1993 bombing. Both my father in law and brother in law work on on Rector and Church streets, just blocks away. The children knwe something was going on and we knew that a few of our kids had lost parents already. By the time I went home and saw the pictures, I was numb.
Memory:The speed at which everything seemed to happened, the day slowed to a stand still.
Affects:It shattered the naive sense of the world we have. Our oceans can't portect us anymore.
