Here's a description of the group:

A number of groups and individuals in the Madison, Wisconsin greater area
have expressed a need for a broad-based citywide coalition to include those
who want to stop the escalating cycle of violence, given the media,
political and public responses to the recent attacks in the U.S.

The Madison Area Peace Coalition has been formed as a result, with the
following unifying principles:
1) Peace and Justice, not War and Revenge. 2) Unity and Respect: Oppose Hate
Crimes. 3) Protection of Civil Liberties.

This mailing list has been formed as a forum for upcoming events.  We're in
the process of setting up a separate mailing list for discussion, but in the
meantime please use the forums section at http://www.madpeace.org
