Annotation: The National Park Service 9.11.01 Remembrance online exhibit is a culmination of materials collected over the past 10 months that document the involvement of National Park Service sites, their staff, and their visitors in efforts to respond to the tragic events of September 11, 2001 and the days following. The objective of the exhibit is to provide the visitor the opportunity to reflect on National Parks during a time of crisis and what they mean. The exhibit includes interviews with National Park Service employees from around the country; written comments left by visitors about the meaning of National Parks, Historic Sites and Heritage Areas gathered at New York National Park sites after the tragedy; photographic documentation of these places; video interviews; and the opportunity for visitors to leave their own remembrance on the site.
