Annotation: This website offers a little of everything, although it is nevertheless well organized. It serves two purposes. One is to offer resources to people wanting to research the World Trade Center disaster. The other is to house the World Trade Center Miracles Foundation. The foundation was created by “prominent Americans from all walks of life.” The foundation supports six different funds including the Children’s Relief Fund, Ground Zero Medical Fund, WTC Miracles Rebuilding Fund, Terrorist Attack Relief Fund, U.S. Military Relief Fund, and the controversial Adopt A Family Fund, which posts profiles online to solicit financial assistance. The rest of the site offers discussion forums, a timeline of events, a few personal stories, and links to other websites. This links page is very useful because it is indexed by topic and individual links have been rated by visitors.
Excerpt: Secondarily, the site serves as an excellent resource for information about the WTC disaster and the aftermath of the tragedy. Excellent coverage of breaking news can be found all over the web, television and radio. While this site will help connect you to these resources, our purpose is to focus on the incredible stories of survival and heroism that have resulted from this catastrophe. We remember the firefighters, EMS personnel and policeman who laid down their lives to rescue others from the rubble. We honor those who pulled a coworker, a friend, or even a stranger away from danger.
