Title: WTC Memorial Quilt Project Diary
Go there: In this window | In a new window
Annotation: This site describes the memorial quilting project created by Amy Leasure and Chris Davis of Prescott, Arizona. The project received 18,988 panels, which are being sewn into large panels. Eventually the quilt is expected to be the size of a football field. The site includes photographs of many of the blocks, as well as the names of the volunteers who made them, and the names of the people sewing the panels. Patterns are included on the site and there are links to several news articles, three press releases, other quilting projects and memorial sites, and the projectís quilting and corporate sponsors.
Excerpt: We have donated 500 quilt blocks to the Freedom Quilts project (pictures are on the gallery page). These quilt blocks were extras and are being made into Quilts that will be donated to the victims families. Every block will be used in some way. Either in the main quilt, in the honor banner, in the charity quilt, or donated to an organization who is making quilts for the families. They will all be used to help comfort someone in some way.
